About Symon
Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The Northwestern signee continues to show steady improvement with each evaluation. The 7’3″ center finished with 23 points in a win over Mater Lakes, scoring efficiently around the basket. Ghai has soft hands and consistently converts opportunities at the rim, while his footwork has taken noticeable steps forward. He is developing a better feel for carving out space in the lane, rebounds outside of his area, and provides real value as a shot-changer on the defensive end.

leads off my Florida and Georgia Favorites from the Adidas 3SSB Championships. He is a physically imposing Center who not only stood out with his play on the floor, but with his positive attitude and leadership off of it. Ghai worked hard offensively to score with his left hand around the rim, gain second possessions, and be a lob threat. He isn’t a high volume shot-blocker yet, but his presence still protects the rim by deterring opponents from having easy looks inside the paint. Symon tallied 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a win over Breakaway Basketball on Wednesday.

14p 8r 1b 5/5 FG 4/6 FT vs Highland
-There was a lot to like from Ghai in a good win over a gritty Highland group. Thought Ghai did a good job of keeping the ball high in this one to avoid turnovers and get a putback up as soon as he grabbed the rebound. He uses his length to rebound the basketball well and affects a ton of shots around the rim. ACF’s defense will be bolstered by how he blankets the rim and deters from ballhandlers from even trying to attack the basket. Jumper looked good on an 18-footer that hit nothing but net and his FT numbers indicate some upside as a traditional big that can be effective in pick n pop scenarios at the next level.

At 7-3, Ghai is one of the tallest prospects in the country, and his skill set is catching up to his size. The lefty big man moves exceptionally well for his frame, running the floor fluidly and using his length to dominate the paint. Ghai is slowly making waves in Florida and picked up an offer from Oklahoma State.

Ghai just glides all over the floor it seems with his play. Symon originally from Sudan was able to challenge and alter shots on the defensive end of the floor all day here. Surprisely he can handle the rock up the floor by putting the ball on the deck. Symon has an incredible wingspan and quick feet to move around the paint area.
