Chicagoland Summer Showcase: Skilled Floor Generals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rockford, IL hosted the annual Chicagoland Summer Showcase over this past weekend. Teams from around the Midwest gathered for a three full days worth of basketball with around 40 teams participating at the event. PHI caught glimpses of about a dozen games on Saturday and Sunday from Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, and Indiana. Some of the top level players from those states were in attendance. Plenty of skilled ball handlers were on display for their respective teams. Got into the lane multiple times for dribble drive action. Able to finish and convert over more size. Had a couple smooth soft touch kisses of the glass that were successful. Has a good feel with the ball in his hands. Quick first steps allow him to get help defense to slide over. Makes good decisions once help comes. Dropped off a couple slick passes while crowded. Made a cool spin move and floater kiss off the glass. Spotted up from 3 as well. Strong compact frame. Found his openings in gaps of the defense and got through them in a hurry.&nbsp; Runs the break at a quick rate. Aggressive on both ends to pressure the basketball and keep defense on their heals. Had a couple pick offs to go the other way. For smaller size will still be around the glass to grab opportunities. Got down hill in a hurry with the ball. Can create opportunities for himself and others with craftiness. Splashed in multiple catch and shoot 3's with a sweet spin move off the bounce. Have him on the point list but could insert him into a two-man role as well with his shooting ability. Used length in multiple phases of the game. Got on the glass at both ends and came up with take-a-ways to turn into O. Spotted up from beyond the arc with consistency. Has some bounce in the paint as well. Had solid court awareness getting into the thick of the defense then dishing off. High IQ driving. Let's D initiate contact to get to the stripe. For size still hung around glass off misses. Converted on a couple lay ins going coast to coast in transition. Gets to locations off the ball. Made a hard baseline cut for a retrieval and finish. Averaged 11 over the weekend and helped team to 3-1 finish.
