Cobb is a vertical jumper with elite athleticism. He dunks off of two feet and is an explosive leaper. It is hard to write about him without mentioning his athleticism, as he is one of the best athletes in the state. He is in excellent shape, runs the floor, and finishes over or through defenders. It was great to see him in his age group as it separated him even more. Opponents could not keep up with him; he gives high effort and finishes well around the basket, and is only continuing to improve. Coaches need to get him on their radar early.

Egbuji stepped in as an extra this weekend with Pluto and fit right in as he does all of the little things that you need in a big man. He runs the floor well, has excellent hands and a feel for where the rebounds are coming, a back-to-the-basket game, and soft touch around the rim. His guards fed him plenty of easy baskets, and you can tell that was a welcome sight for him as he continued to score. He is a talented scorer who allows the game to come to him. He grabbed boards and started the break, battling down low against the bigs, altering shots, and also showing great footwork defensively as he stepped out and defended guards as well. This was a bit of a showcase for him, and he delivered. He is one of the better 2028s that we have in the state, and I feel much more confident about his play now.

Valentine has had two straight weekends in a row where he has looked like one of the best big men in the state, and that means something to me. Not many big men compete on the block like he does. he is strong and agile, productive, and has a great motor with his size. He is strong and multi-dimensional and not afraid to get his face in there to compete. He is a catalyst for the offense as a willing passer; he finishes through contact with either hand and also knocked down a few floaters in this one. With other talented bigs around him, he provides them with a bit of everything as he scores, defends, and puts himself in positions to score. I got asked a few times about him from college coaches that were in the building and have stamped him as one of the biggest risers in he class as he will surely play at the next level. Get Valentine stock now while you can. Another great weekend for him.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075463' first='Elevation' last='Flyers'] was a team that continued to stand out this weekend, as they have seemingly every elite big man in the state. They use their size as an inside and out attack, are overbearing down low and with Land on the floor have a stretch big that opens up the floor for them. Land was one of those elite bigs as he is long and mobile. He was much more aggressive on Day 2 as he made his mark on both ends of the floor. Defensively, I was impressed as he had a few blocks, slid into help side defense, and had active hands for steals. He ran the floor after the block, finished well around the basket on cuts, and makes good reads off the ball.

Noah is a solid athlete with size, utilizing his 6'8 frame to impact the game. He has an elite motor, gets down the floor, and finishes above the rim for countless dunks. He also showcases the ability to shoot it, and that opens up the floor and the rest of the game, as opposing bigs have to choose how to defend him. In this tournament, it was all on display as he had countless dunks in every game. He rebounds well, grabs boards out of his area, and battles down low. He reached the FT line with his work alone, making opponents uncomfortable. This was also a setting where he was the lone big man, which allowed him to stand out a bit more as a big. He is a natural scorer who excels with the ball in his hands, scores in bunches, and alters shots around the rim. The more I see him, the more I like him.
