The annual Shot Clock Invitational took place on June 28 at the Temple Training Center and was put on by Ball So Hard, one of the top media outlets in Houston. Geoffrey Day and Extra Eyes Media always know how to put together a great event and had the gym jumping with some exceptional matchups during the one-day showcase. I took time out of my day to get my eyes in the gym and examine some new athletes I had never watched before, so let's dive into further evaluations of some eye catchers who stood out.

Troynelle Belle was the dominating force behind Miles Select NXT Black's offense in their win over Apex NXT. Belle uses size and a long wingspan to score from anywhere on the court and has good paint defense, blocking shots at the basket and coming away with second chance rebounds on multiple possessions. Belle has deceiving speed on fastbreaks and is usually one of the first ones down the court, whether it's on offense or defense. Belle has been making a lot of noise this grassroots season and is making his mark as a top 2027 in Houston for this upcoming year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2557514' first='Cash' last='Davis'] is a phenomenal shooter and displayed that capability in Texas Takeover UA Rise's win over Fort Bend Texas Heat. Cash is not just a catch and shoot guy, but he can also create his own jumper off the dribble or get to the basket using underrated speed and ballhandling. Cash also has made noise over the past couple of weeks with some fastbreak dunks, and he can definitely get up to the rim when left open. The bottom line with Davis is that defenses cannot fall asleep when covering him or else it will be lights out for the opposition.

Jammir was one of the best players at the showcase when it comes to quick decision making and high IQ at the point guard slot. Major constantly uses blazing quickness and a variety of dribble moves to knock down pull up jumpers, draw fouls at the rim, and be a consistent playmaker. Major finished the game with about 15 points and 6 assists, showing that he not only impacts as a scorer but also as a willing passer.

Dylan was a high motor wing during the event as he demonstrated ability to score from all three levels but focused mostly on scoring under the basket and in the midrange. Campbell has a solid post-up game with his back to the basket and constantly hit fadeaway jumpers and spin layups over taller defenders, as well as finding a way to get to the foul stripe and cashing in there. Dylan easily has a case to be one of the more underrated 2026 players in Houston for his senior season

Khalil was a blur during transition opportunities for First Rd. Pick Elite in their win over Fort Bend Texas Heat. Johnson had a total of 27 points and was lighting it up from every end of the court on offense, showing a consistent and quick jumper as well as being a difference maker with the ball in his hands. Khalil is a good mix of playmaking and scoring for First Round Pick Elite as he can function at either guard slot and affect the game in a lot of different ways.
