Who Stood Out At The Lonestar State Showdown Down The Stretch?

The Lonestar State Showcase, Texas's premier event this year, drew teams from across the country. Prep Hoops successfully brought in talented players, some of whom other scouts discovered throughout the weekend. During this past weekend's evaluation of players, I identified five players that made significant contributions to their respective teams.    Cooper Hayes was a standout player for Bears Tail 15U defense that made a significant impact in the half-court. His aggressive play led to steals and stops, which he converted into offense. Hayes also showcased his efficient shooting skills by consistently hitting open perimeter shots. Currently, Cooper holds the esteemed position of the #17 overall best player in North Dakota, as per Prep Hoops. Additionally, Cooper is recognized as the #4 combo guard in the state of North Dakota.     Andrew Antush is a player for JAB Elite that demonstrated excellent passing skills from the post. He also showcased his ability to shoot pull-up jumpers from mid-range and was an effective scorer in the interior. Moreover, he demonstrated his versatility by playing on all three levels of the court and contributing to the team's rebounding efforts.     [player_tooltip player_id='3604560' first='Blake' last='Tierney'] is a major contributor to JAB Elite that is an aggressive rebounder who effectively cleans up missed shots. His rebounding efforts have provided JAB Elite with valuable second-chance points in the paint. Offensively, the 6'5” big man in the 2029 class demonstrated his ability to hit shots beyond the perimeter. I'll be keeping a close eye on this prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='2859056' first='Logan' last='Henry'] is the starting guard for [program_tooltip program_id='2885301' first='Texas' last='Elite DFW'] that has shown significant improvement since my last evaluation at the Prep Hoops sophomore camp. During the Lonestar State Showdown against Houston Showtime, he consistently scored in the second half. His performance over the weekend saw him averaging 24 points per game, significantly boosting his team's offense. With his recent rise in the rankings, Logan will have the opportunity to contribute beyond his scoring ability, enhancing his overall game.     Damani Price showcased his athleticism on both ends of the court, utilizing his jump and frame to execute plays effectively. Defensively, he remained vigilant, never losing track of what's around the painted area and anchoring the paint to prevent opposing paint points. He also adeptly cut off driving angles for opposing players in attack mode. His impressive paint protection forced his opponents to take difficult shots. Despite the opposing pressure, Price consistently contested shots.
