In the latest 2028 player rankings, the top 10 really didn't see a huge makeover.

That's because it's top heavy. There's too much talent at the top of the class, and all of them are fighting to stay at the top.

Briacrest's [player_tooltip player_id='2194485' first='Joshua' last='Huggins'] stays put at No. 1 after a great showing in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. He scored 267 points in 12 games, while shooting 49.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from 3-point range. The 6-foot-6 forward is difficult to stop when he's able to get downhill. He finishes well around the rim. Huggins is a respectable 3-point shooter. To think that Huggins is not close to being a polished player is a realization many gathered watching him play over the spring and summer.

Bartlett's [player_tooltip player_id='2194617' first='DJ' last='Okoth'] stays put at No. 2. His upside is ridiculous. The 6-5 forward displayed his efficiency while playing for Alabama Fusion 15U. At Peach Jam, Okoth shot 55.9 percent from the field as he averaged 23.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game. As of right now, Okoth is the only challenger to Huggins.

Brentwood Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='2543986' first='James' last='Humphreys'] moved up one spot to No. 3. At 6-8, Humphreys could turn out to be the best shot blocker in the class. He led Brad Beal Elite 15U in blocks (1.6). Humphreys alters a lot more.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194605' first='Cadence' last='Collins'] from Chattanooga Prep made a huge leap, moving up 15 spots to No. 8. He's tough, physical point guard that's a pest on defense. Collins loves to pick up 94 feet. On the offensive end, Collins is crafty enough to get to his spots. He can make shots from the perimeter. Collins can get into the lane and finish through contact. He's definitely going to play college basketball at the next level.

McCallie's [player_tooltip player_id='2841498' first='Luke' last='C. Smith'] moved up 13 spots to No. 9. The 6-10 center has already shown his ability to be a strong defensive presence near the rim. Smith can control the glass. He has a soft touch around the rim. He's not a finished product just yet, but the progression on both ends of the floor is very noticeable.

In short, the top of this class is filled with talent. The upcoming high school basketball season will be an opportunity for each prospect to separate themselves.
