The Trey Perry era is over for Lakota East as one of their best players in school history graduated this past season and this allows for some new names to establish themselves as the next stars of the Thunderhawk's program. Bowman could be that guy as he has been given the freedom to run the offense with the ball in his hands as just a rising Sophomore. A high IQ player for his age, Bowman had numerous assists on Friday with his most success coming when he was attacking off the dribble and making the help defender pay. As a scorer, Bowman found his most success as a catch and shoot sniper from 3-point range, converting a high percentage of his off the catch looks. One of the best lead guards in southwest Ohio's 2028 class, Bowman will be a name people know across the GMC by the time the season ends.

I was impressed by Northland's athleticism and defensive activity with a short-handed group. Slade Jr is an athletic wing who wants to play above the rim in transition. I thought Slade Jr was just active on both ends of the court, being near loose balls covering a lot of ground on the court. Slade Jr could be a breakout name in the Columbus City League from the class of 2028 this winter.

There's been a lot of buzz around Ridner Richard this spring and I finally got to see him play early in the afternoon on Friday. Ridner Richard looks slimmer and more explosive as an athlete, beating defenders off the dribble on decisive attacks. Winning conference POY as a Junior, Ridner Richard has already established himself as one of the most productive players in the city and he looks even more dominant heading into his senior season.

I was impressed with some of the flashes Bronston showed me on Friday with a couple seals on the inside where Bronston caught and finished with his right hand. If Bronston can be assertive on the block that gives Fairfield another offensive style that they can utilize with their impressive length and athleticism. If Bronston can consistently impact the game on both ends of the court, Fairfield will once again be one of the best teams in the GMC and greater Cincinnati as a whole.

Playing on a young Lloyd Memorial squad, Blaackar is in a featured role as a creator for his team and showed off his isolation ability on Friday. Blaackar is tough to stay in front of off the dribble thanks to his burst and change of direction. In the overtime frame of the game I caught Blaackar had the game-winning layup for his team as the scrappy Juggernauts are looking like they'll be a competitive squad in northern Kentucky once again this winter.
