It's June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. Yesterday I was in Greenville, South Carolina, for Day Two of the 2025 Sizzlin' Summer Shootout. Check out my five biggest standouts from Saturday at the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout:

Headlining my list of standouts from Day Two of the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout is [player_tooltip player_id='2882268' first='Janssen' last='Clinkscales']. Janssen went from an unknown in most circles to a guy who has the potential to be special this weekend. Clinkscales spent his Freshman Season at Southside High School but got some run in his new team's blowout win over Westside on Saturday. In these minutes, he showed flashes of being a modern big man with two driving and-ones, a steal turned into a transition dunk, and a catch-and-shoot three. Clinkscales put up 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block in the second half of the Legacy's Silver Bracket Championship Game Win.

Scholl had a pair of strong performances on Saturday for the eventual Gold Bracket Champions Greenville High School. Tucker put up 7 points and 4 assists in Game One and 10 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals in Game Two. Even though his perimeter wasn't falling at it's normal rate, Scholl never lacked aggression and still did a good job of finishing in the paint. Tucker also got some opportunity to show his ability as a Point Guard and ran the Red Raider offense for stretches. Scholl's forced turnovers and smart defense were key in Greenville pulling away from Oceanside Collegiate to win the Gold Bracket on Saturday.

Sumter's [player_tooltip player_id='1486213' first='BJ' last='Brown'] is next up on the list. BJ didn't have his most efficient shooting day in the matchup with North Augusta, but he did make the shots his team needed including a go-ahead, stepback three in the final 30 seconds - his third made three on eight attempts. Brown had much more success finishing inside the paint due to the Yellow Jackets' lack of a true rim protector, and he also cleaned up the offensive glass for more easy buckets. BJ can drive and finish with either hand and is usually strong through contact. He put up 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win.

Jeremiah was a bright spot for Seneca in the Pool-Play loss to Legacy on Day Two. He was asked to work hard on both ends of the floor, guarding the Lions' best player and being guarded by him too. This didn't phase Hunter, who had his usual success making plays for himself and others. Jeremiah looked notably stronger since I last evaluated him and did a great job of playing through contact and using his body to negate bigger rim protectors. He finished with 13 points and 4 assists in Game Three.

Rounding out my Saturday Standouts list is [player_tooltip player_id='2364856' first='Tristan' last='Anderson-Edmond'], a new name to the Palmetto State who is now at North Augusta. Tristan's size, speed, and playmaking fit in well with his new team and he did a lot of things to help them without hitting shots in the matchup with Sumter. Anderson-Edmond can beat defenders off the dribble, penetrate the paint, and find open shooters or bigs. He also cuts well off the ball and is athletic enough to be a lob threat. Tristan put up 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in the close loss.
