It's June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. Yesterday I was in Greenville, South Carolina, for Day One of the 2025 Sizzlin' Summer Shootout. Check out my five biggest standouts from Friday at the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout:

Headlining my list of standouts from the first day of the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout is [player_tooltip player_id='2825162' first='Miles' last='Campbell']. Miles was on another level with his play, putting up 30 points in each of the Green Wave's two games. Campbell is the definition of a guy who can get himself a bucket, but he used the free-throw line to get in rhythm early in Game One. Miles can score at all three levels and does so off the dribble and efficiently. He had nine made threes between the two games - several of them highly contested - but his long arms allow him to shoot over good defense.

If Campbell was the most impressive player yesterday, the Eastside Eagles would get the award for the most dominant team. They won their two games by a combined 97 points, meaning younger guys like Ruggiero could get some extended run. Even though Roman is a starter, he played his best minutes with the rest of the Eagles' second unit and put up 10 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals on 2-4 3FG in the second half of Game Two. Ruggiero is a pure shooter, capable of catching and shooting at an efficient rate or pump faking and pulling up in the mid-range.

Next up on the list is [player_tooltip player_id='1206192' first='Quh'mareon' last='Webb']. North Augusta got off to a stellar 19-0 start in the win over Daniel and Webb was a huge part of it. His hands were super active and he filled good lanes in transition. Quh'mareon was also lively on the offensive end, cutting hard to the rack and setting screens for others to get open. He has a deep bag to get his own bucket including crossovers and hesitation moves to get defenders off balance and he's more than capable of knocking down shots too. Webb put up 11 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals in Game Two.

Kendrick seems to play at a high level every time he puts on the Liberty Red Devils Jersey. He went for 26 points and 4 steals with 5 made threes in a win over Chapman. Jackson got his scoring started with a steal leading to a runout layup and a trip to the free-throw line after getting fouled on a three. After that, it was all uphill as he turned up the heat on the Panther defense. Kendrick is an elite perimeter shooter, but he can also get into the paint and pull up with jumpers and floaters. Jackson is an instinctive defender who loves to jump passes but is unselfish in making the right transition pass.

Rounding out the list of Friday Standouts from the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout is [player_tooltip player_id='2844134' first='Zion' last='McGee']. McGee is one of two returners to this Legacy Lions roster under new Head Coach Everick Sullivan. But despite the new system, Zion looked right at home with their dribble hand-offs and frequent screening. He also showed he could make plays off the dribble with a nice right-handed finish on the first possession. McGee is always active on the offensive glass and has good footwork in the post. He put up 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block while earning extended rest for with the blowout in the second half.
