The 22nd annual Rose City Showcase took place the first weekend in June, and a number of top high school teams in the area - and beyond - gathered at the home gym of Portland Community College for some high octane action. We had the opportunity to catch some games in the Gentlemen High School Varsity Elite bracket and here are some of the top performers we saw on the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='1606557' first='Dache' last='Acelar'] (2026 Benson) - Acelar had his shot going smoothly from the outside, knocking down four threes, but the rising senior was also getting it done passing the basketball finishing with 5 assists showing great balance with his game. The first team all-league honoree will be counted on heavily for not only his court play but his leadership as well in 2025-26.

[player_tooltip player_id='1582934' first='Jeremiah' last='Pichon'] (2026 Gresham) - The top scorer we saw on the day was Pichon who seemingly was able to get buckets whenever he wanted to. He was sharp with his jumper, hitting a number of perimeter shots including a trio of threes, but was also very active getting to the basket for finishes through contact. The rising senior finished with 27 points and 8 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1653212' first='Kareem' last='Artharee'] (2026 Gresham) - Often times Artharee will be the team's top offensive weapon, but in Gresham's game against Grant the rising senior played more of a jack-of-all-trades role. He got some baskets - 8 points total - but was satisfied and effective hitting the boards (6 rebounds) and finding teammates for scores (4 assists). Most importantly, his play led to a nice win as Gresham eventually played in the event's title game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2747483' first='Andrew' last='Haas'] (2026 Cleveland) - If the way Haas played in the game we watched at the Rose City Showcase was an indication, the rising senior will be Cleveland's top player this upcoming season. The 6-foot-7 big man posted up strong and finished down low, but was also able to create off the dribble when he received the ball on the perimeter. He led all players with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and even grabbed 3 steals.

Drieson Malu Niko (2028 Benson) - A unique blend of strength and skill, Niko had a solid effort in Benson's win over Reynolds. The rising sophomore started off establishing his outside jumper, which then opened up opportunities to attack the hoop for buckets. Not as many rebounds as we've seen him grab in the past - largely because of many perimeter shots bouncing outside - but he still finished with 11 points and 3 boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539808' first='Ter'rae' last='Foster'] (2028 Gresham) - We saw plenty of games where Foster was lighting it up from the outside, but in Gresham's win over Grant he was able to showcase his other abilities. Playing at the point, he found open teammates in both the halfcourt and in transition and went inside to battle for rebounds on both ends. A well-rounded game of 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists was the final result.

[player_tooltip player_id='2485547' first='Jamarea' last='Sanders'] (2028 Roosevelt) - With the transfers of guys who were expected to be key contributors out of the program, it's opened up an opportunity for younger guys like Sanders to shine - and the rising sophomore delivered in the game we watched at the Rose City Showcase. At 6-foot-3 the wing is wiry and athletic, and he effectively utilized those traits to slash and get to the cup for buckets.
