NJ's Impact Independent Transfers Ahead of Scholastic Live Period

The June Scholastic Live Period is just days away and some of New Jersey's best independent programs are set to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Independent School Team Camp the next couple of weekends at Executive Education Charter School in Allentown, PA. With anticipation building for what is expected to be an exciting couple weekends on the recruiting calendar, let's dive into some high impact transfers amongst New Jersey's Independent Schools ahead of the June Scholastic Live Period.    A quick and creative guard off the bounce, [player_tooltip player_id='2421355' first='Kyle' last='Dixon'] is an intriguing addition to The Patrick School's backcourt— bringing both scoring and playmaking at the guard spot. Dixon has a natural ability to break his defender down and get downhill. Possessing good feel for the game, Dixon gets in the paint consistently and makes plays for both himself and for his teammates. Look for Dixon to be a dangerous playmaker that keeps the defense honest during the June Scholastic live period.     Capable of playing either guard spot in the backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2875236' first='Jayden' last='Lau'] is an interesting addition to Lawrenceville's guard position. Lau is capable of being a strong and poised ball handler that can initiate offense while also at times creating off the bounce and either getting to the rim or getting to his mid-range pull up. Defensively, Lau has the length to be effective and disruptive on ball defender. Look for Lau to benefit from reclassing and transferring to Lawrenceville and boost his stock over the course of the rest of the summer.     Bringing a strong interior paint presence to Blair Academy's frontcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2470853' first='Kamsi' last='Awaka'] is an absolute brutefroce in the paint. Awaka possesses an interesting combination of strength and solid touch around the basket that makes him a strong inside finisher. Defensively, Awaka is expected to be a defensive anchor— rebounding the basketball at a high level and being an effective and intimidating rim protector. Already garnering a handful of high major offers, look for Awaka to only get better as he improves his skillset over the next couple of years at Blair Academy.     A combo guard that is comfortable operating as a ball handler and playmaker or a sharpshooting two guard, [player_tooltip player_id='2234403' first='Ray' last='Fernandez'] brings versatility to Blair Academy's backcourt. Fernandez has good feel for the game, possesses a strong handle, and is a trustworthy decision maker. A lights out shooter from three point range, Fernandez also has limitless range and is a versatile shooter that can shoot it both off the catch and off the move. Look for Fernandez to showcase his versatility at the guard position over the course of the last couple weekends in June.     [player_tooltip player_id='2148602' first='Eric' last='Hillsman'] brings an interesting combination of athleticism and length on both ends of the floor to TPS's wing position. Offensively, Hillsman's ability to not only attack closeouts and get to the rim but also be an effective piece in transition and finish above the rim will be an impactful addition to TPS's offense. Defensively, Hillsman brings length, versatility, and a high motor that figures to be an intricate part of the Celtics' defensive.     Every bit of the definition of a 3&D prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1630659' first='Isaiah' last='Carroll'] brings both perimeter shot making and defensive playmaking to the wing position for Blair Academy. An exceptional shooter from three point range with a smooth and compact release that shoots it with confidence, Carroll is a dangerous threat from three point range. Defensively, Carroll is a versatile playmaker that disrupts passing lanes, guards multiple positions and plays with a relentless motor. Look for Carroll to see his recruitment pick up a little bit of steam these last few weeks in June.     At 6'10", [player_tooltip player_id='2431506' first='Coleman' last='Elkins'] has a skillset that is unique and easily stands out. Elkins is capable of playing both inside and outside— having a solid back to the basket game with a soft touch around the basket while also being able to step out to the three point line and knock down outside shots from three point range. As we approach the scholastic live period these last couple weekends in June, look for Elkins to showcase his unique skillset at his size for Blair Academy in front of college coaches.     Despite being undersized, [player_tooltip player_id='1788755' first='Jaden' last='Mason'] makes a living getting in the paint and being a crafty finisher in traffic. Mason has a strong frame that he uses to play through bumps. Defensively, Mason is scrappy and is terrific at pressuring the ball and forcing turnovers against opposing ball handlers. Look for Mason to provide a consistent volume of paint touches for TPS the next couple weekends in June and be a guy that guy collapses opposing defenses.     Another athletic big that plays with a tremendously high motor, [player_tooltip player_id='2858280' first='Eshaw' last='Iddi'] will look to provide a strong interior paint presence for TPS. Although still a little raw but steadily improving, Iddi brings inside finishing ability and rebounding on both sides of the floor. So far this spring however, Iddi has shown flashes of his perimeter skillset— in his ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket on dribble drives. Iddi has the right physical tools and will look to only continue to improve his skillset.
