Who made the best impression with college coaches all over the building? We run you through those names now!

[player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam']: Surprise of the Night

The MBCA games kicked off on court three with nine kids in one game that have been offered by division one schools in their life at some point. Air Force, Boston College, Central Michigan, Citadel, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State, St Thomas, South Dakota, South Dakota State, you name it, they were right there watching.

And who surprised everybody?

Wayzata hard working forward [player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam'].

In a day and age where random social media cheerleaders just assume that the flashy dunker guy is the star and will just get all the time, [player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam'] stepped into the spotlight to let the world know.... you get success through hard work. You earn time through hard work. You earn state titles through hard work! You total 24 points on ten of twelve shooting with multiple threes through hard work!

That is what [player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam'] did and it wasn't just some open run active buckets. Lam made three three-pointers, he attacked with a dribble to score, and he scored contested baskets against contested size. [player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam'] was a night one standout.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson']: High Major

Staying with Wayzata, the biggest note of Friday night was [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'] likely earning himself a high major future on night one.

A long list of college basketball coaches from the division one level were watching close and Anderson was competing against the likes of [player_tooltip player_id='2126094' first='Ty' last='Schlagel'] (who also played well), South Dakota's top prospect Blake Ellwein, and future teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2575638' first='Izayah' last='Cook'] and to steal a word just used, Anderson was cooking.

Nolen scored 28 points on 10 of 19 shooting including his four threes sunk, four foul shots made, and most importantly, he went at the rim and showed some pop and agility that we keep seeing more and more. And when you shoot it like Nolen does, when you are 6'7, and you are now showing this type of agility to go with it (not to mention his teams always win), you have schools like Minnesota, Nebraska, Boston College, and Iowa State among others watching and having deeper conversations. Anderson then had 23 points in the second game.

Mitchell Explodes in Game One

[player_tooltip player_id='1560868' first='Joseph' last='Mitchell III'] opened the evening with a rapid four threes and six baskets total in the first 6-7 minute run on the floor. He was hitting from the perimeter and going at bigger name 2027 guards and using his speed and size to continually scoring against them.

Mitchell had 28 points total making six threes and 11 of 14 shots total, and this was with opposing guards trying to locate him, trying to keep him in front, and doing their best to not get physically beaten, and Mitchell just continued to physically beat them.

JoJo is not a player you have pry heard too much on this spring because [program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley'] is out of town so much, so this was a huge game for him reminding everybody in the local college coach community, that he is a top player. He did just have an All State junior season.

Baboucarr the Star

Baboucarr is making his case as the top prospect in the state in his class. When it comes to colleges recruiting him, Ann has that going for him as well.

Ann is 6'5 and he just does so much to help a team win. The difference between Ann and some other guys his age and position, Ann plays harder, he plays more consistently, he plays smarter, he does what his coaches ask, he moves the basketball, he then lets the ball come back to him so he is scoring in space as opposed to taking contested shots, and guys like playing with him. He is Isaac Asuma as a wing. He's a high IQ, hard working player that possession by possession plays harder and smarter than others. Throw in that at his size Ann is agile, explosive, quick, and improving his skills every day. More college options will be coming his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] Plays Winning Basketball

Last night I saw a perfect example of what to do and what not to do as a young point guard. And we use Tyler as the positive.

Tyler..... moved the basketball early in the possession and his teammates got good shots. And Tyler did it on the many sets, and within the motion offense they were running. His opponent launched awful volleyball line shots and passed the basketball as a last resort.

Tyler.... defended using strong lateral steps and using his physical 6'2 guard size muscling his opponents off their lines and/or cutting off angles. His opponent turned and complained about his teammates not defending while he stood there.

Tyler.... was verbally directing and encouraging his team as they won. Tyler's opponent and opponent's fans complained about his teammates and yelled about subs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] is an example of a player and student athlete that I would recruit.
