SF [player_tooltip player_id='2594655' first='Pete' last='Craig'] (Waukee)

The top-ranked sophomore-to-be in attendance, Craig is a 6-4/6-5 wing who can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor. He shoots it well from the 3-point line off the catch, moves without the ball in his hands, is excellent on the glass, and is a long, athletic, intelligent, and versatile defender. He averaged 7.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game as a freshman.

PF [player_tooltip player_id='2439640' first='Jevyn' last='Severson'] (Madrid)

Severson was the second leading scorer for the Class 1A champs last season, averaging 15.4 points and 8.0 rebounds on 66.5% shooting as a freshman. He's a highly skilled 6-5 big man with nimble feet, soft hands, great touch, and the ability to step out and stretch the floor. He's strong, physical, and can play with both physicality and finesse.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='2523910' first='Jayden' last='Stephens'] (Waverly-Shell Rock)

Stephens recently picked up Power 5 football offers from Iowa and Iowa State, and the gridiron is likely where his future lies. However, he's also one of the top basketball players in the state in the 2028 class, using many of the same attributes that make him a standout football player to succeed on the hardwood. He's long, athletic, has tremendous body control around the rim, and he's a talented playmaker off the dribble. He averaged 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game on 53% shooting as a freshman.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2519258' first='Keaton' last='Kasperbauer'] (Centennial)

Kasperbauer appeared in 20 games off the bench as a freshman, averaging 2.1 points per game. He's one of the highest upside player in the class, with a unique blend of size, length, and shotmaking. He should step into a much larger role as a sophomore, and this will be a good chance to see what that looks like.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='2523891' first='Carter' last='Thielen'] (Lewis Central)

One of the most productive freshmen in the state last season Thielen led the Titans in scoring at 13.8 points per game. He's a crafty wing scorer who can play with or without the ball in his hands, and he's talented as a playmaker.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2521754' first='Andrew' last='Allen'] (Xavier)

Allen wasn't on the varsity roster last season, but he could be a key rotation piece for the Saints as a sophomore. He's a knockdown shooter, especially off the catch, who moves really well without the ball in his hands.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2772348' first='Chase' last='Perrin'] (Dallas Center-Grimes)

A sharpshooting guard who buried 42.9% of his 3-point attempts as a freshman, Perrin is the top returning scorer for the Mustangs and will be asked to shoulder a heavy load as a perimeter scorer and playmaker this season.

CG [player_tooltip player_id='2521112' first='Corbin' last='Larsen'] (Norwalk)

Another player who could be stepping into a significant role as a sophomore after getting no varsity run as a freshman, Larsen is a shooting threat off both the dribble and the catch who is capable of getting red hot from the arc.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2523912' first='Kalob' last='Lovely'] (Treynor)

Lovely played sparingly as a freshman for the Cardinals, but is part of a really solid 2028 class at Treynor. He's a quick guard who can create looks off the dribble, shoot it from the arc both off the dribble and the catch, and he's a good playmaker who sees the floor well.
