The Midwest Stampede North team traveled to Memphis, TN to spend the Live Period at Made Hoops Memphis Live. The results weren't exactly what they wanted, but the shorthanded 6 man roster battled and received the respect and praise of every opponent, official and fan. Let's take a closer look at the individual performances from the Midwest Stampede North.

Talladay had a true break out weekend. He was nothing short of a warrior under in the paint for the Stampede North team. Talladay had to have averaged 15 rebounds a game in Memphis. And on a weekend where contact under the rim was more than allowed, Talladay scored and rebounded through slaps, scratches and pushes every game. This young man is a college basketball player through and through.

Slack had a lot of responsibility this weekend and he fought through and handled it greatly. Slack was usually the primary ball handler against handsy trapping teams. He was able to score both off the bounce and the catch, featuring his ability to leave the ground and shoot high over the defender. Slack averaged over 20 points per game. His recruitment continues to gain steam.

Remember what I said about Talladay being a college player? Fill this young man into that same category. Hall can absolutely groove his jumper from behind the arc and did just that in Memphis this weekend. He's simply a college shooter with a pretty jumper that's just going to get better. Hall continues to show growth on the defensive end against high quality offensive opponents.

Garwood is such a valuable piece to a team, and especially to the Midwest Stampede North squad. He can do so many things at a high level and is willing to play ANY and EVERY role that his team needs. Garwood showed this weekend that he had underrated ball skills and can be a huge asset on the perimeter. Garwood showed off his range on his jumper, burying some pretty triples from the top. College coaches are going to want to see him with the Stampede.

We've been focusing on some college level skills that players on the roster have, so let's look at Zickert's perimeter D. I haven't seen many or any guards get up on their opponent and pressure the ball like he does and did this weekend. Zickert and his gritty defense drew the praise of opposing coaches.

Goines has been a rapidly improving prospect for a couple years now and that trend isn't stopping. Goines is a team player that's incredibly coachable. He was thrown into a new role on the fly at one point in a game, manning the middle in a zone, and he did it with perfection. On the offensive end Goines was a high IQ shooter that showed that he can fill it up from beyond the arc.
