PH Live: Saturday's Top Tier 15U Players

Prep Hoops Circuit stopped in Chicago this weekend for NCAA's live evaluation period. This is the only time in the Spring when D1 coaches may observe and evaluate players at certified non scholastic events. Plenty of teams from across the Midwest were competing. From the Dakota's to Kentucky and all states in between. I was in attendance for Saturday's contests in Batavia checking out the Class of 2028 15U teams. Let's take a closer look at some of the top tier players who showcased their skills.    An athletic wing that showcased a lot of natural abilities and utilized them well. Was active on the glass off misses on both ends and had a couple offensive put backs to get his team going with energy. Is able to grab rebounds off a high point with his length and timing. Liked his defensive activity also. Created turnovers which converted to good offense. Can take it to the rim off the dribble and finish with a good vertical over similar size. One to definitely keep an eye on over the next few years.     Good overall feel and rhythm for the game. Was able to take on pressure the full length of the court and handle with poise. Out ran the pace of the full court trap defense. Solid in transition and on the primary break phases. Sees the floor well. Multiple dish offs to guys once defenders were drawn in or converted in the lane himself. Utilizes his quick hands on both ends and makes smart solid reads with the ball. Can create space going off the bounce.     Has a good frame for a big already but plays even bigger. Was most impressed with his footwork and hands. High IQ to read the ball handler and work off the flow of offense. Cut or rolled to the rim after screening the ball on multiple occasions clearing space and making finishes look easy. Converted at a really high rate inside right at the rim. Made a really cool spin move off the defender's weaker side to finish. Defensively causes a regular challenge and will get tip blocks off layup attempts.     Plays with a toughness demeanor and a positive competitiveness attitude. A true rim runner that has a conditioned motor. Is really poised on the catch and feels the defense for options. Plays the 5 and maybe a bit undersized there but makes up for it with his competitive nature. Makes good decisions with the ball. Had a few put backs off of misses to keep teams energy and run staying afloat. Solid bounce and timing coming off the rim. Does a lot of the dirty work down low and battles hard.     A speedy quick guard that can get to the rim in a hurry. Really shared the rock nicely in the team's second contest of the day. Other guards on the team combined for 9 3's with him being the assist man on some of those. Ended up making 4 trey balls himself with an even keeled steady shot. Ended the game with a lob alley-oop to his big.     One of the best players I got to see today. Very long and can be defined as position less. Comfortable on the handle dribbling on the breakaway or in transition. Really uses his length effectively in most of the phases of the game. Creates a big defensive presence with his wing span getting tips on passes or shots. Caught fire from 3 in the last contest of the day knocking down atleast a handful. Can pull up and shoot the midrange off the dribble or take it to the cup. Drew a lot of contact and went to the stripe quite a bit as well. Remains consistent on the glass.     A smooth guard that can slow you down or speed you up with the ball in his hands. Changes speeds with the rock really well. Had a reverse layup in traffic over a couple 6'4's and O boarded for a couple put backs against that size as well. Made a tough pull up stopping on a dime from mid range that he made look easy. Made another drive with a spin move and then spray out for a 3 assist. Keeps the defense on their toes. Hit a big 3 to keep team in it with 30 seconds left. A true gamer.
