The 2025 Big Shots Myrtle Beach Jam began on Saturday at the John T. Rhodes Myrtle Beach Sports Center. This was my first-ever trip to the MB Sports Center and my first Big Shots event this Summer, setting the table for the first day of action. Check out these five Forwards who most stood out at Day One of the Big Shots Myrtle Beach Jam:

Heading my list of Top Forwards from the Big Shots Myrtle Beach Jam is [player_tooltip player_id='2821488' first='Jason' last='Dunbar']. Jason's frame is long and lanky, but he is also a high-flyer at the rim. Although he used those two attributes to affect the game, Dunbar also showed some skill in the paint with soft touch on push shots and hooks. Jason will run the floor hard, both on offense and defense, to get in position to make a play. He went for 10 points, 3 steals, and 1 block in Team USC Premier's Tournament Opener.

Bryson was running with [program_tooltip program_id='2134373' first='Team' last='USC Unleashed EYBL'] this weekend. I caught up with him early on Saturday, and he had a big showing in a dominant win. Schofield showcased his sturdy body and used it to his advantage in the paint. He has good timing on the glass and in protecting the rim, gets off the ground well with good bounce, and can even bring the ball up after a defensive stand. On the offensive end, most of Schofield's production was at the rim, where he was powerful in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2693904' first='Kavontay' last='Rose'] left a good first impression on me in Myrtle Beach and earned a spot on this list with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. Although he missed a few early shots in the paint, Rose got his game going with an impressive coast-to-coast dunk that showed some of his potential as a big man. Kavontay got in a rhythm after that moment, continuing to use his size and athleticism advantage to dominate the paint on both ends of the floor. He works hard for positioning in the post, making him easy for his teammates to find and even easier for himself to finish.

Unlike some of the other prospects in this group, Caden stood out with his work on the defensive end first. He worked extremely hard on that end and did a great job of defending without fouling. James protects the rim with long arms and good instincts, but also cleans the glass with physicality as he tallied 8 rebounds and 4 blocks in a game one win. His offensive game is old-fashioned with hook shots and face-up jumpers, but he is comfortable enough to step out to the perimeter at times.

Rounding out my Standout Forwards from the Big Shots Myrtle Beach Jam is Chukwu Anigozie. He was a key piece in the Canadian-based Toronto Terror team that won the 17U Slam Championship. Anigozie is an enticing athlete who plays with a high motor. In the tournament opener against the Kings, where he went for 25 points and 11 rebounds, Chukwu showed his knack for running the floor and putting himself in good positions to finish at the rim. Anigozie is smart with his movement off the ball and a lob threat in a pick-and-roll offense.
