2028 Prospects to know from the Clash of the Titans Part 1

The Clash of the Titans Memorial Event took place this weekend. The event provided a platform for a early look at the next wave of Class of 2028 prospects to showcase their skills and potential. This annual event draws scouts, coaches, and enthusiasts from across the country, all eager to witness the spectacle of young athletes pushing the boundaries of their abilities.   As we delve into the standout prospects from this year's edition, prepare to be amazed by the raw talent and dedication these young players bring to the court. From explosive forwards to dynamic guards, the Class of 2028 promises an exhilarating display of basketball prowess, setting the stage for the future of the sport.    Matthews is a well-rounded explosive southpaw. Productive front-court piece that can do a variety of things on the floor. He's a quality low-post option that can finish around the rim with authority at a high level over either shoulder. He rebounds both backboards with purpose and aggression, even out of his area, which can help him when he's playing/guarding 2's or 3's. He consistently makes 2nd and 3rd efforts defensively and on the glass. Offensively, his ability to finish around the rim he sees the floor well, finds shooters and cutters when operating in the middle of the floor. Also showed he could face knocking down the perimeter jumper out to 17-19 feet and showed the ability to get downhill to score off the dribble. Azjuan is a NO BRAINER next level talent that should have more opportunities than he currently does on a national level. One of the top prospects I have seen in the 2028 class so far this spring.     Phillips is a talented and skilled young guard with a great set of foundational physical tools to go with his ability to knock down shots at a high level. He's shown promise in his game off the bounce where he's shown the ability to weave through traffic and finish in multiple areas on the floor. With all of that said, my favorite thing about this kid's game is his ability to make outside shots off the catch when setting or coming off an action. He clearly has a lot of confidence in that aspect of his game, and it shows while he plays. As he continues to get stronger his game will only come along even further throughout his high school career.       He is a dynamic downhill finisher with acrobatic ability to elevate in traffic for highlight finishes. He has good size for a combo guard as he can play on or off the ball with his ability to make shots off the catch. Very intrigued to see where his next step of development is but as long as he stays on the track he is now, there will be a lot to like from Diamond as he moves through his high school career. Diamond will be reclassing to the 2028 class and attending The Pennington School this coming fall.     Kareem is a young prospect that I will be keeping my eyes on, as he has a lot of potential as he continues to develop. Offensively, he has a growing offensive skillset, running the floor, attacking the bounce and getting to the basket, and scoring well with touch and showing range on his jumper knocking down a couple of threes in the high intense 16U game against [program_tooltip program_id='2077005' first='Team' last='Thrill']. He also impacted the game in other areas, having great timing with his athleticism and altering shots, as well as attacking the glass to secure rebounds. I'm eager to see how he continues to develop and adds more of his arsenal.     Antwan continues to flourish with a balanced, high-IQ feel on the court. He demonstrates effective floor management skills, balancing his scoring with coordinating plays for others.  Antwan is fundamentally sound with his ability to knock down shots inside and outside the arc but also plays under control in creating and setting up others.     Even at his size, Brown can lead and present problems for opponents. He is a quick, crafty guard who displays shifty hands and creates well off the bounce. Brown showed his willingness to knock down shots from outside but did a great job in getting by defenders with a quick first step, weaving through the defense, and scoring with touch over and around defenders in the [program_tooltip program_id='2077005' first='Team' last='Thrill'] game.
