As we continue to shine a spotlight on some promising prospects outside of our top 40, we decided to turn to the bucket-getters. In a game that is becoming increasingly more focused on what value you bring to your team as a scorer--especially for the guards--we thought we would touch on several guys that excel in creating their own shot. Let's get to it!

-Bailey proved over the course of the year that he is really, really difficult to keep under wraps for a full game as he led a good STA squad in scoring. Bailey can get his own bucket off the bounce from all three levels and does a great job of anticipating contact to draw fouls all over the floor. Love the consistency and touch on his floater in the key both off of one foot and two feet.

-St. Pierre had a productive season for a plucky BL group that either beat or gave a tough scare to several top local schools. He manipulates his defender well with his eyes, rarely betraying where he is going next with the ball while operating really well as a scorer that reads ball screens well. Love his scoring feel to know whether to reject the screen and shoot behind it or get downhill all the way to the baja. Love the touch on his pull-up jumper and he's beginning to hit movement shots coming off of spin moves or stepbacks in the halfcourt.

-Always love watching the physical, downhill driving guard bully his way to his spots in the halfcourt. He's really difficult to stay in front of but even when he's not, he can usually carve out space with his shoulders or an exceptionally-strong core. Taylor excels in generating paint touches to score over or through defenders and has worked hard to improve the scoring touch through the contact in the paint. If he can continue to sharpen his shooting mechanics to make him more of a closeout threat, those paint touches will become even more valuable/lethal.

-Gramling has an old school game, with a strong back to the basket scoring ability to score over smaller guards or draw the foul. Gramling's IQ in attacking closeouts usually leads to the right decision but he does so while remaining on-balance and playing off of two feet. The perimeter jumper makes it a lot more difficult for the defense to sell out the drives, and his shot IQ allows him to be incredibly efficient from the perimeter.

-A really creative scorer that is fun to watch, expect to see a rise from Miller in our next set of rankings after a consistent and productive sophomore year playing starter's minutes with Ryken. Miller does most of his scoring from 15 feet and in, utilizing a smooth pump fake to duck under hard closeouts and get to his spots from the midrange for an effective 1 or 2-dribble pull up jumper. Love his patience in the halfcourt to take what the defense gives him and pass out of tough shots in traffic in the key to create for a teammate or simply reset the play.

-Pretty dynamic downhill driving guard that utilizes a pretty strong core/upper body to bully his way to his spots in the halfcourt. Moore's pull-up in the paint is beautifully on-balance and allows him to get off smooth 1 or 2-hand jumpers in the key that usually find the bottom of the net. Love the way that he utilizes footwork around the basket to create space to draw fouls or score over the defense.
