Cohen controls the show for NE Elite and finds success offensively with his start-and-stop dribble game. He does a good job using hesitation and hanging dribbles to get the defense to stand up and then blow by them, and he makes good decisions for himself and his teammates once he gets into the lane – he's a willing passer with solid vision. The three-point shot is inconsistent and still coming along, but he looks like he has a lot more room to develop physically. I could definitely see Cohen having a big growth spurt and looking quite different moving forward – the skills and feel are already there.

Kolar was one of the more imposing athletes I saw in the 9th grade division. He rebounds really well for his size (great at boxing out and being physical) and can score from all three levels offensively. He gets to the rim using speed and a solid handle, and he's difficult to stop when he's coming downhill in transition. He also showed off a really nice-looking three-point shot that few freshmen have. Kolar is a nice player who should have a great high school career, and growing more would be great for his college hopes.

Johnson was the best player I saw in the 9th grade division. He's super confident with the ball in his hands and can get to wherever he wants on the court as a result of his handle and quickness. He blew by defenders with utter ease and found tons of shooters on the perimeter and bigs in the dunker spots for easy looks. He can also shoot it from the midrange and three. The Phillips Andover freshman is still small, but some growth could really help him out. Great player who should have college basketball hopes.

Haggerty is a menace attacking downhill in transition. He's a great rebounder for his size and once he gets the board, he's good at getting a full head of steam quickly and gliding to the rim; he showed off some really nice footwork in the lane to avoid defenders and get off good shots. He also has good vision and was finding teammates for layups in a variety of situations including fastbreak pushes, pick and roll pocket passes, and spray outs from the paint. Will be curious to see whether he continues to grow, which would really raise his stock.

Chacharone runs the show for CMF and does a good job finding his teammates. He understands floor spacing and has a good idea of where the ball should go on each possession. He threw a couple really nice full-court one-handed passes that dropped right in the receiver's arms. He also did a nice job getting in the passing lanes and using his hands to get steals. Chacharone, an 8th grader playing up, will need to get stronger if he wants to play at the varsity high school level, but the future Algonquin HS freshman has some time to figure it out.
