Here's the top point guards for the 2027 class. This latest update shows a great group of point guards throughout the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2243492' first='Dazon' last='Reid'] has continued his ascent to the top of the point guard world. He patiently worked his way into the Huntington Prep rotation and by the year's end played a key role in their success. Reid has used that momentum to roll into AAU season with the Brooklyn NY based Wiz Kids where he's the centerpiece of the 16U squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='2340983' first='Connor' last='Balwanz'] most recently helped the WV Reign secure its first tournament title in Charlotte this past weekend. Balwanz posted a pair of 16 point games to push the 16U squad into championship status. Balwanz plays either guard spot comfortably and really thrives off the ball, however, he's most dangerous at the point and will project there at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2053688' first='Jasiah' last='King'] is a true distributor, an old school, if you will, point guard. King has that element of old school NYC type point guard game where he challenges the defense rather than being challenged. King has next level vision and playmaking and excellent length to match.

[player_tooltip player_id='2337762' first='Gavin' last='Williams'] sets a pace with the ball that puts defenses on their heels and in recovery mode quickly. Williams is lightning fast with the ball and gives a blow-by nearly every possession. Williams has a great three level scoring skill-set but finishes AT the rim as well as anyone.

[player_tooltip player_id='2306566' first='Isaiah' last='Turner'] has returned from injury and began his climb back to one of the Kanawha Valley's top guards. Turner has steadily shown a bit more of his old self in the first three Big Shots events he's participated in. The explosiveness, the speed is starting to come back. By summer's end he should be back on track and be a huge problem for defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='2434224' first='Collin' last='Ridgeway'] is one of the younger players in recent years who's been at a high enough level to not just grace a Mohigan uniform, but log actual meaningful minutes and contribute. Ridgeway is a great combination of point guard and true floor general. He seems to understand tempo and space and how to use it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2413156' first='Elijah' last='Ramsey'] has endured another injury and bounced back yet again and has worked his way onto the floor recently. It'll be a process seeing him get back to 100% throughout the summer but what a perfect time to get back on track to his old self. One of the "craftiest" scorers is how I would describe him, yet Ramsey has incredible vision and poise with the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2683161' first='Ryan' last='Robinette'] scores when he has to and plays distributor when the moment presents itself as well. Robinette is a stout built point guard who's strength and bulk can bother defenders at the high school level. We'd anticipate Robinette to have a stellar junior season with scoring especially with an upstart and young Pikeview squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326132' first='Eli' last='Patton'] has already showed everyone he's not in big brother's shadow despite having similar games. Eli is a dynamic guard with excellent guard skills and shoots it very well, especially in transition situations. Look for Eli to lead his team in scoring if not other statistical categories as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2378509' first='Jagger' last='Barnes'] is yet another talented guard in that University program. We see Barnes as a true two-way point guard that plays both ends very well. With the cast around him, Barnes could easily max out his assist numbers every night next school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2625304' first='Bryer' last='Mullins'] plays as hard as anyone in the gym no matter where its located. Mullins plays with incredible energy, scores the ball in multiple levels yet seems to make everyone around him better. We believe he could/should be in all state consideration by season's end next spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377052' first='Caylem' last='Thomas'] will have his chance to lead the Nitro squad that's become acquainted with state tournament appearances. Thomas does a very good job distributing and seeing the floor. Thomas is a smooth ballhandler who gets shaken by a stronger defender but offseason training will cure that in a matter of months. We could definitely see him being possibly the top assist man in Kanawha Valley next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421837' first='Luke' last='Sancomb'] is pound for pound the best point guard on this list. Don't let his slight stature fool ya, he's a fierce competitor not to mention a smart one. Sancomb dissects defenses with his mind and dribble looking for scorers to be ready to receive the rock and get buckets. Sancomb can be deadly from three as well if left open, as we've seen many times this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2691124' first='Kaiden' last='West'] has the look of a rising guard. Point guard might not be in the future but then again, could be exactly where he projects out. Nonetheless he developing into a solid player. West does a good job finding opening and setting up for kick outs as well as push the ball up the floor hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2769604' first='Brady' last='Toler'] has great tools to succeed as a point guard or even to slide over to shooting guard. A very strong ball handler and passer, Toler can really push tempo and put pressure on defenses. But don't leave him open because he only needs a small crease to get a shot off in. I would summarize as a complete point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2615796' first='Levi' last='Lewis'] is a guy who's game I love. I've yet to see a glaring weakness, at least not one to be worried about for a rising 2027. He is a three level scorer in the true meaning. Lewis is consistent from three, gets to his spots in midrange and does a fabulous job finishing around bigger defenders at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436136' first='Andrew' last='Dotson'] continues to develop his game and guard skills. His shooting is already becoming a problem for opposing defenses with his lightning fast release. He looks to be a scoring minded point guard but nonetheless a point guard who can handle the rock and make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2561904' first='Kooper' last='Sainato'] is a fun player to watch in that, he has kind of an old school style to him but its nothing short of effective. I like his quick release from three and his eyes up approach in transition. I think we'll see him make the transition into varsity rotation this coming season. A huge offseason of AAU with WV Gold will prove to be vital.
