Sunday at the Windy City War we had several big matchups with some of the top shoe circuit teams in the Midwest. In this article I spotlight the players not from Illinois.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194315' first='Dooney' last='Johnson'] [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] 2027 WI

Johnson's star auroa is off the charts. He's a explosive 6'6 guard who made many gym buzzing plays. Dooney is smooth off the dribble and has good hang time in the lane. His arm length makes him a dangerous in the passing lanes because his steals turned into huge dunks that stop the game. Only a sophomore in high school there is some upside in his rebounding and ability to be a good help side defender. Johnson has the it factor to earn NIL for college basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'] [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 2027 MN

Nur was a player who had a slow start but figured things out in the second half against an energetic [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] team. He is every bit of 6'10 with a dead eye shot from three. Ahmed started a comeback with his shooting connecting on 4 threes to chip away at [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last='']'s lead. He is also an underrated shot blocker despite not having a ton of strength. Nur is a couple of ball handling drills from becoming a top nationally ranked player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 2026 MN

While being in awe of the size and skill of his teammates. Max caught my attention with his shooting and activity off the ball. He moves with deceptive speed on the court watching Max running off screens to get his shot off. He is an athletic 6'3 prospect that can play on and off the ball. He had a trio of threes pointers and scored 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1847792' first='Donovan' last='Davis'] [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] 2027 WI

One of the better skilled bigs at the event. Davis has a good combination of size and skill. At 6'8 his first play was a drive for baseline dunk over OPS big man. Donovan has a good handle and uses strength to maneuver around the court. He was a mismatch problem all day. On the perimeter has the mechanics to make a few shots. Davis is another player who can garner some national attention.

Jaidyn Coon [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 2027 IA

Another strong game for Coon. The 6'7 wing is a shot maker who plays with a consistent motor on both sides of the ball. Jaidyn is long and plays above the rim when given just a step. He has solid ball skills and isn't afraid to elevate in small spaces. Besides his shooting a major part to his game is how well he rim protects for his position. His agility and anticipation for blocks is insane. Coon should be on many high majors short list.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140949' first='Kager' last='Knueppel'] [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] 2027 WI

Well maybe one of my favorite players to watch this weekend. Kager is a long athlete and a shot maker similar to his older brother Kon. At 6'8 he is a good passer on the move and set up his teammates well in transition. Knueppel is next in the family lineage to blow up this spring on the EYBL circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560740' first='Dothan' last='Ijadimbola'] [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 2026 MN

I finally got to see why Dothan is considered the #1 player in the state of Minnesota. He's athletic and powerful around the rim for a guard. He snatches rebounds and has the capability to bounce guys off of him when getting downhill. Dothan is a three level scorer that doesn't try to do much outside of his game. He knows who he is as a player and plays to his strengths.
