These weekends are admittedly long from a "time in the gym" standpoint, but they also fly by in the blink of an eye. In essentially a 48-hour period from tip-off on Friday night to the final buzzer on Sunday some of the best teams from across the Midwest played four games at the Romeoville Athletic Center. Our team of Prep Hoops scouts had boots on the ground coverage throughout the entire weekend bring our traditional unparalleled coverage. As we have done each of the last two evenings, let's unpack the notebook and take a closer look at what all we saw on Sunday.

A recurring segment in Ramsey's Notebook, we always like to shine a little light on those prospects who get out of bed on a Sunday morning and immediately put work in on the hardwood. We started our day at the Romeoville Athletic Center by watching Coulee United 17u defeat [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Select 17u 65-62. [player_tooltip player_id='2423288' first='Tyson' last='Labus'] (West Salem H.S. 2026) was among the standouts for Coulee United as the 6'4" guard consistently got to the rim off of the dribble. His size allowed him to be a very good finisher, but his ball-handling ability and quickness was what got him into the paint time after time. 6'1" guard [player_tooltip player_id='2423204' first='Miles' last='Ravenscroft'] (Hillsboro H.S. 2026) also made some big shots for Coulee United in the hard-fought victory.

Meanwhile, for [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Select, 6'7" [player_tooltip player_id='2834465' first='Gavin' last='Plautz'] (Stevenson H.S. 2026) stood out in some stretches. The fundamental post player had an impressive stretch where he finished a hook shot at the midline with his left hand over his right shoulder, knocked down two free throws, and then finished a putback with his left hand as well. If it weren't for the free throws I would have admittedly assumed he was left-handed. [player_tooltip player_id='2405883' first='Karthik' last='Krishnarajah'] (Stevenson 2026) and [player_tooltip player_id='1552466' first='Andrew' last='Krestel'] (Rolling Meadows 2026) made some big shots from beyond the arc for [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Select as well.

[program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 15u Defeats AyoDos Elite 15u

This matchup drew quite the crowd to Court 3 at the Romeoville Athletic Center. Not only was a lot of the top talent in Illinois' Class of 2028 on the floor, but Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu was on the sidelines, as he had been all weekend, coaching his team. In the end, Mac Irving picked up a 72-57 victory as they would go on to finish the weekend with a perfect 4-0 record.

Once again, it was [player_tooltip player_id='2531961' first='Amarion' last='Smith-Holley'] (Peoria Richwoods H.S. 2028) who put on a show in the backcourt for [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 15u. The 6'0" is as talented of a playmaker as you will find in the current freshman class. He truly has the ball on a string and is incredibly crafty in pick-and-roll situations. His favorite pick-and-roll teammate is 6'8" [player_tooltip player_id='2834463' first='Amari' last='Williams'] (Shepard H.S. 2028) who simply has some size and athleticism that other prospects his age don't have. Those two create as good of a one-two punch as you will find at the 15u level this spring and summer.

As for AyoDos Elite 15u, [player_tooltip player_id='2834186' first='Nigel' last='Moore'] (Peoria Central H.S. 2028) was the star of the show from what we saw. The left-handed guard was able to create his own shot even against the consistent, swarming defense of Mac Irvin. He had a smooth shot from beyond the arc, confident ball handling ability, and some slipperiness when getting downhill to the rim. Definitely another talented freshman guard to watch out for in Illinois.

Other Notes

It was another excellent day for Elijah King (South Bend St. Joseph H.S. 2027) as well as Michael Woods (Hammond Morton H.S. 2027). We will have more on those two Indiana guards who suited up for [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 16u in a separate article.

[player_tooltip player_id='2823657' first='Kemmeon' last='Hale'] (Murphysboro H.S. 2026) is a name to remember for college programs that will go into the spring and summer looking for some size. The 6'6" post player was impressive for [program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] 17u - Walker. He is very strong, but displayed soft hands and good feet when finishing around the rim. Then, defensively, he held his own on the block and rebounded everything in his area.

I came away really impressed with the mobility of 6'6” forward [player_tooltip player_id='2383402' first='Jagger' last='Mayville'] (Waltonville H.S. 2027) for [program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] 16u - Haar. The left-handed post player runs the floor well, is good on the roll, and has flashed some passing ability out of the post as well. Definitely has some intriguing upside to follow.

[player_tooltip player_id='2390523' first='Evan' last='Okey'] (Libertyville H.S. 2028) turned in one of the most impressive individual performances of the day with a 30-point double-double in a 61-42 win over [program_tooltip program_id='2075622' first='M14' last='Hoops'] 15u National-1.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076267' first='Powerhouse' last='Sports'] 17u's Sam Golden (Loyola Academy 2026) stood out despite taking two losses by a combined seven points on Sunday. The 6'2" sharpshooter was cooking from beyond the arc in the action that we caught. Golden's is a name to remember going into the rest of the spring and summer.
