Labus has stepped up his productivity in a big-time way for yet another very good squad at West Salem. After averaging 5.1 ppg and 5.0 rpg as a junior, the mobile 6-foot-6 forward is putting up 16.5 ppg and 8.2 rpg as a senior while helping the Panthers to a 17-2 record. Labus’ ability to use his versatility on offense along with his size on defense have been huge factors in the success for West Salem, which is closing in on its fifth consecutive championship in the Coulee Conference.

Labus was aggressive from the get go for Coulee United , which posted a 54-39 victory in 17U play over Minnesota Heat Tuma on Saturday. A vertical player with good strength and aggressive moves to the basket, Labus finished the contest with a game-best 18 points. His first basket was a three-pointer, but he scored mostly off the dribble the rest of the way for Coulee United . Labus has the strength to absorb contact and the verticality to outjump defenders. Labus averaged 5.1 points and 5.0 rebounds as a junior and should improve on both numbers for West Salem next season.

Tyson is a 6’4” wing that can impact winning in a variety of ways. He can stretch the floor, as he was an elite option for teammates looking to make kickout passes, being at his best in the catch and shoot. He ran the floor well, being able to finish at full speed with either hand. Labus also made plays on the defensive end, protecting the rim and jumping passing lanes for steals.
