Here's a list of the top post players in the 2026 class in West Virginia. It's a diverse and dynamic list ranging from Division I level players to multi-sport stars and some emerging talent that could develop into college level players.

Nobody better to lead this list than [player_tooltip player_id='1851878' first='Noah' last='Lewis']. Lewis who's had a great progression in development of his game and being able to use it within his high school's game plan night in and night out. Lewis handles himself like a professional on the floor and is all business while being a player who could easily average 30 a game, Lewis makes sure everyone on the floor is involved and the ball never sticks in his hands. He's developed a nice face up game from mid-range and mid-post that is essential for a stretch four which is his future at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1851975' first='Max' last='Olejasz'] has caught fire in the recruiting circles and has taken full advantage of his opportunities in front of coaches at all levels. Max played a huge part in Wheeling Central's state championship run last month and opened some eyes while in Charleston. And now in AAU games we're starting to see him break out of his "shell" so to speak and become the alpha he needs to be. Olejasz has a solid array of skills and once he becomes a consistent shooter, look out, the sweepstakes for Max will be on.

We've been able to see [player_tooltip player_id='2303399' first='Anden' last='Santamaria'] over the past several months in several different capacities, from fall league, school season and now AAU this past weekend at JamFest in Pittsburgh. Santamaria is attractive to many due to his fluid athleticism and guard-like skill set, yet needing to add strength and bulk to his body, coaches are still intrigued. Santamaria has the ability to be a break leading threat off the rebound or yet can be a rim-running big. Look for him to get his first official offer by summer's end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2211908' first='Isaac' last='Hodges'] is listed in the database as a small forward, however if we're projecting forward we'd tend to believe he's stretch four at the next level. One of the things that sets Hodges apart is his feel for the game and where and when to score. Hodges is a master of the mid-post scoring and always takes advantage of smaller players in that instance. Hodges does have a low post game that you can see he puts work into, but he's certainly a threat to drag any defender out of the lane and to the three point line where he's plus 40%.

[player_tooltip player_id='2164534' first='Waylon' last='Colistra'] plays the game from a standpoint of being physical first and as a defender, however his offensive game should not be overlooked. Colistra is a tough matchup as he, like the above mentioned Hodges, has a high percentage from three which poses well for any offense. When you see Colistra play you'll see an offensively skilled yet physically tough kid, as one has to be to survive in the Morgantown High basketball program.

Another player we have listed as small forward yet could be and likely will be more of a stretch type forward is [player_tooltip player_id='2313271' first='Evan' last='Hughes']. Hughes sprouted up to 6'6" in the last six months and has started learning how to use that size to his advantage. Hughes historically being a wing type player could add to his resume by sliding inside and/or to the baseline and perfecting his inside play. This past season he was asked for much of the time to do the dirty work inside and was able to develop that part of his game which will be a huge asset going forward with getting recruited.

[player_tooltip player_id='2243496' first='Zayden' last='Neely'] has started to emerge as one of the rising forwards in this class. Neely has came a long way in his development and continues to add pieces to his game. Great size and feet are the first thing you'll notice for this Princeton High player, but his face up game is starting to emerge as a serious threat. Look for his development to really show during AAU action in the next few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2303394' first='Luke' last='Anderson'] is that guy with the feathery touch from mid-range and shoots it well from deep. Anderson's inside game is ever-developing and is the area he'll need to concentrate on most going forward to set himself apart. Anderson's size is definitely not in question as his 6'6" frame grabs your attention right away. Anderson is a player who has a chance to take some big strides and get on the college radar quickly.

Most know [player_tooltip player_id='2324791' first='Xavier' last='Anderson'] as the big center for Spring Mills, but those in the EP know him as a force on the football field, where he'll actually spend his time at the next level. Despite being a future college football player (D1) Anderson is enjoyable to say the least to watch on the court. Anderson is the consummate role player, setting picks, taking tough assignments on defense, getting tough rebounds and making lighting fast outlet passes to scorers in transition. He's definitely a kid who could player basketball at the next level given his strength and athleticism, but we'll enjoy tracking his career as a defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2390842' first='Tayveon' last='Wilson'] is yet another future D1 football player who has had a streak of dominance since his sophomore year on the hardwood. Wilson has lightning quick feet and a strong frame that translates to dominance in the paint in basketball but also a dynamic football player who's fielded calls from multiple power four schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347884' first='Zaden' last='Ranson'] will change the tone of this article as he's also a multi-sport athelte who's had a dominating career as a hooper since his freshman year, but Ranson is also a D1 offered athlete in baseball and that's where his future at the next level lies. Ranson is a physical and tough player with and without the ball who is super efficient with the ball. Ranson recorded several double doubles this past season as he was a handful to deal with for most every AA competitor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2243523' first='Brayden' last='Helmick'] is coming off a junior season where he dominated almost his entire schedule in single A. Helmick is a man in the lane, standing 6'6" and broad shouldered, he takes full advantage of his size and plays a true post position. Helmick can of course score given his size, but what we like is his awareness on defense to change and block shots of his opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377474' first='Stephen' last='Boggs'] got everyone's attention as a sophomore while Braxton County played in the state tournament. A strong built 6'6", Boggs is an imposing figure and is very active in the paint. A great rebounder and put-back artist, Boggs presents a real tough task to keep off the boards and limits second chance points. On the defensive end, Boggs's brute strength allows him to guard bigger players and is athletic enough to step out on wings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2324786' first='Colt' last='Sandy'] is one of the most under the radar players in this group as he's played at one of WV's smallest schools, but he's also played extremely well and posted impressive numbers as you'd expect. Sandy is a double double machine and an athletic 6'4" who has some great versatility on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2500111' first='Matthew' last='Mullen'] is one of favorite guys who's emerged this season as a player who could develop into a next level player going forward. Mullen is a physical 6'5" who does all the dirty work inside but we think its obvious could develop into a multi-level scorer as well. Mullen is one of the players we're looking forward to seeing next season as he'll have to be a huge contributor for South's success to continue.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375690' first='Ivan' last='Miller'] is a player we've failed to mention much, however, as a small school multi-sport athlete, Miller should get more press for his play in the paint for the Logan Wildcats. An accomplished baseball player, especially from the mound, Miller uses his athleticism on the hardwood as well and posted several great scoring and rebounding outings this past season. We're guessing though, if he's playing a sport at the next level it'll probably be on the baseball field.
