No.... but he's about as quick and is about the same size, especially when he's coming at teams at 23 miles per hour either with straight line speed or separating from spot on the floor to the next to playmaker while playing on the [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] home floor.

The beauty of this young Minneapolis North 20+ per game sophomore is that touch. A shooting touch crafted in perfection. The release that screams bucket, and the goose neck form that we've same before with the same name.

Marcus had 23 points on 9 for 15 shooting in a win over WOTN plus eight rebounds and five assists. His transition push had opponents either giving up or chasing down in desperation. The quickness into the shot is nearly impossible to stop and as Marcus continues to get better, his teams continue to win.

Minnesota Swish defeated Minnesota Gold 89-80 in the final game of the day at Hopkins High School. The Ethans had 27 points each and each Ethan had a big half for the Minnesota Swish.

Ethan Sonuu of Glencoe-Silver Lake knocked out six threes using a quick separation move into an open three point make in ways that had the opposing coach throwing his hands up. It's one thing to try and move with a player like this when he is red hot, its another when the player is making threes from a few steps behind the arc deep in the possession. Sonju had 27 points highlighted by seven threes.

Minnesota Gold changed tactics to slow Sonju, and then [player_tooltip player_id='2118474' first='Ethan' last='Martin'] got going. The lefty scoring wizard went back to the basket or facing the basket with a dribble attacks to get deep in the lane and angle in short bank shots over and over. The defense was actually pretty good but Martin is to strong, quick and savvy with that left hand to stop. Martin scored his 27 points on 12 of 16 shooting with most of those baskets coming in the second half.

The Unstoppable [player_tooltip player_id='1560815' first='Logan' last='Shimek']

[player_tooltip player_id='1560815' first='Logan' last='Shimek'] is about 6'4 or 6'5 from Rochester Mayo, and he's a physical senior-to-be. He was one of the many Mayo players returning next year for what should be one of the top ten teams in Class AAAA basketball. And today, he took the challenge of bigger opponents and made them his victim.

Shimek got position whenever he wanted to and if his Minnesota Lightning teammates had the angle, the ball was in Logan's hands. From there he went to work. Logan's usage of a couple dribbles was for two reasons: 1) to get closer to the rim, and 2) to get a good feel of where the defender was to set up his next move.

And when that next move came, it was a bucket. It was a baby hook, a quick shoulder turn for a lay-up, it was an extension off the pivot and using a stretched out arm to find space to get the ball in the cup, and it was success. His use of the pivot was excellent and his off shoulder contact stunned opponents shielding them from the finish.

Logan was 9 of 11 from the field and 5 of 5 from the foul line against Select scoring 23 points and helping Lightning get the win.

JC Buckets

This winter Ja'Carion Green averaged 18 points and eight rebounds a game for Eastview. The Lightning had a tough season so some may not have been aware of his steady improvements, but they likely are aware after today.

Green helped Team FSA get two very good wins to finish their weekend beating Select and Fury Zurn. It was the strength of Green that really stood out as opposing guards had a hard time dealing with the physicality of his attack and Green used that strength to finish in high percentage, balanced ways the final two games.

Green had 19 points against the Fury making 9 of 11 attempts!

Quick Hitters

The Hoop Habits guard trio of [player_tooltip player_id='2416947' first='Ayden' last='Green'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126455' first='Peyton' last='Gholson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2842020' first='Xaviahn' last='Ivey'] did a magnificent job of pressuring the opponents this weekend, pushing the transition game for easy scores, and really hurting teams with the actions off of their spaced out ball screen action.

[player_tooltip player_id='2121351' first='Tanner' last='Rose'] is a better passer than I knew of. I thought the St. Louis Park guard did an excellent job of moving the basketball to all of his [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2124278' first='Isaac' last='Peterson'] of Minnesota Lightning is about 6'3 and a dangerous wing scorer. He can knock the shot out from the arc or get on that straight line drive and lift to the rim. He's already a two time all league player and yet another Mayo piece that I think is going to make them so tough next winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1548694' first='Keishion' last='Jarmon'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2075496' first='Grassroots' last='Sizzle'] scored 15 points mixing transition chances with a couple jumpers and a couple halfcourt attempts for his numbers. An impressive showing for the 2027 guard playing up today.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381757' first='Cole' last='Hebrink'] of Austin/Minnesota Lightning has a confidence to him that just oozes shot making, and changing a game quickly. We saw that in the second half today with some big threes and a post move finish that caught many by surprise.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118459' first='Carson' last='McMichael'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] (Blake) got hot today and scored 20 points highlighted by four threes. He had another good scoring year for Blake and today it was his scoring that gave Select a chance until the end.
