Hoop Group Southern Jam Standouts 2027-28 Part 1

There was abundance of talent to be seen at the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest, the level of the underclassmen was impressive with the play for multiple wing and guards in the class of 2027-28 class, led by fast rising wing James Mineland, Rangy big man [player_tooltip player_id='2524416' first='Majok' last='Aguek'] and sleeper prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2847084' first='Blake' last='Fitzgerald'] who impress with his all-around game. All three were young prospects who have the potential to play at a Division 1 level in the future.    Game is clearly trending upward. Creating mismatches with his blend of size, athleticism, shooting, and ability to attack off the bounce. Utilizes his length well to finish, alter shots, and secure rebounds. Accelerates quickly into a blur-like burst attacking space. Shifty, difficult to stay in front of him. Excellent passer. A lock down defender who puts it all on the line for his team. He is a 3-level scorer who has an especially strong midrange game. Please take note of this 2027 wing guard. Looks likely to have a big summer.     Blake impress with his versatility on the court, as the 6-7 prospect finds ways to be effective in so many areas of the court.  He can defend multiple positions on the court, he understands how to operate down low, create off the bounce for himself, or stretch the defense with his shot-making ability. Blake also finds ways to make his impact in other areas of the court for his team. He brings good value as a piece on the court, and he showed that he is a college-worthy prospect to keep an eye for the next two years.     Have been looking forward to finally seeing Majok play this season. Finally got a chance to see the 7-1 freshman this past weekend, and to see what he had to offer with his game. He gave me a bit of everything, though he is still raw overall with his game. Aguek brings great length that is utilized around the basket, running the floor, or altering shots. But we were also surprised with his ability to step out from time to time to knock down shots. Showing a solid lefty stroke…A new name that continues to surprise throughout the spring and summer. He is playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2458561' first='Global' last='Squad'].     Since the first time I watched Ryan play last year in action, I do believe that he proved he is a for-sure next-level type prospect. D1 schools should be taking a look his way, as he is one that brings intrigue with his 6-6 frame, his overall feel and vision, his ability to score in many ways, and his overall athletic presence on the court. Ryan displayed great touch and vision in finding teammates but can play/operate from multiple positions with his offensive game especially at 6-6. Looking forward to Ryan improving his ability to handle the ball in space and knock down the 15–17-foot jumper consistently.     Troy is a dominant force with his combination of size, athleticism, and relentless activity. He plays above the rim, effectively guards multiple positions, and uses his strength and basketball IQ to make an impact on both ends. Troy moves well without the ball and excels at turning defense into offense, creating opportunities for his team through his energy and versatility. The improvement in Troy's game will come when he shows he can play in a structured half-court setting. He is playing for the Team Loaded 16 3SSB team.     Makel was impressive in the [program_tooltip program_id='2226248' first='Boo' last='Williams'] 16 EYBL showdown. Scoring 21 points knocking down 4 threes in the game in the victory. Makel is a consistent threat from the perimeter that thrives off the catch, dribble, screens or picks. He's got paint touches when slashing to the cup and is efficient with his dribble to get to his spots. Which is lethal with his quick release.
