No where else to start for this article but with Aguek, who logged the first triple-double of this summer’s DMV Live events. The 7-foot-rising junior continues to progress quickly as he spent last season playing limited minutes behind Sinan Huan (Purdue), but it seems like the speed, physicality and the confidence in his own ability are trending in the right direction. The production speaks for itself as he will be the anchor that Georgetown Prep will need in order to protect last year’s IAC title. Aguek finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks(!!) and three steals in the win over Mt. Zion Prep.

The progression with Aguek if you rewind back to this time last year is drastic. Aguek is putting it together quickly in the form of rim protection as both a primary defender or the weak side rotator. He uses his elite length with his 7-foot-1 frame to snag rebounds as soon as they’re outside of the rim and showed a much better ability of catching the ball in traffic to finish emphatically. He went from playing spot minutes last year to being the anchor of this year’s Georgetown Prep team, who will once again be in prime position to win the IAC.

Have been looking forward to finally seeing Majok play this season. Finally got a chance to see the 7-1 freshman this past weekend, and to see what he had to offer with his game. He gave me a bit of everything, though he is still raw overall with his game. Aguek brings great length that is utilized around the basket, running the floor, or altering shots. But we were also surprised with his ability to step out from time to time to knock down shots. Showing a solid lefty stroke…A new name that continues to surprise throughout the spring and summer. He is playing for the Global Squad .

18p vs Bullis (JV)
-Saw some encouraging signs of development from the T10 big as he scored 18 points in a win over Bullis that also saw him grab double digit rebounds and mix in several blocks both on and off the ball. Although the movement skills are still pretty raw as he continues to grow more comfortable in his frame, seeing him play with a motor pretty consistently throughout the contest certainly raises his ceiling as a prospect. Aguek showed good hands on several tough catches in traffic, finishing with two hands above the rim on lobs, rolls to the rim, and rim runs in transition.

-A rangy forward with all of the tools to be a high ceiling prospect in 2028– Aguek is battling a collection of senior forwards in practice each day and learning the nuances of the game. With his ability to shoot and put the ball on the floor while also providing the length to develop into a good shot-blocker and rebounder– Aguek has a really high ceiling under Coach Blue and his staff.
