Great Lakes Challenge All-Tournament Team: 15U/16U Division

After some reflection, here's my All-Tournament Team from the 15U/16U division of the Great Lakes Challenge. These prospects stood out for a variety of reasons—each one unique, each one competing with the same goal in mind, and all of them leaving a lasting impression.    The more I watched Dieter, the more impressed I became. Weber is truly an elite scorer—he was ultra-efficient from three-point land and had no trouble getting to the rim either. Dieter possesses the ability to build off momentum; if he sees one fall, there's a good chance more are on the way.     I previously commented on Yomar's ability to play the role of a "true point guard"—handling the ball, facilitating, and creating plays for others. While that's a big part of Castellano's game, it's not the whole picture. Yomar is just as skilled at creating scoring opportunities for himself as he is for his teammates. He's tough to keep in front of, and he capitalizes on every chance he gets around the rim.     Wade is an extremely entertaining player to watch. He has the ball on a string—sometimes he might play with it a bit too much—but at the end of the day, Simmons is a very creative scorer. He can fill the "bucket-getter" role, but he also showed plenty of high-IQ plays, often knowing where his teammates would be before they got there and delivering the rock for easy conversions.     It's easy for players to forget about defense in environments like this, but [player_tooltip player_id='2801025' first='Landunn' last='Branch'] didn't. I watched him drain three-pointer after three-pointer, then sprint back on defense and give full effort every time down the floor. Not only was his effort undeniable—he executed at a high level. Branch refused to get beat off the ball, consistently cutting off the ball handler and fighting through screens to maintain position.     Landon is the epitome of toughness—getting downhill, taking contact, finishing through it, and then coming right back the next trip down to do it all over again. Bowers often relies on a hard jab step followed by a strong rip-through to blow by his defender—and hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
