Expert Analysis

On a mostly junior and senior laden team, Bowers plays his role well as a utility piece for his team. Moving without the ball, not taking forced shots, unselfish to make the extra pass, Bowers compliments the more experienced varsity players who have led Steubenville to their gaudy record this season. Next season I expect Bowers to take a major leap into a top scoring role, but for this Big Red team, it’s most crucial he continues to play high IQ basketball, rebound the ball and make himself available when his teammates get double-teamed. A name to track from the east district over the next few seasons.

Brings a multi-faceted skill set to the table. Has the length of a forward position for age but plays the point because of ability to handle. Strolled team to a 3-1 weekend. Scored it in a plethora of ways. Spot up jump shot was efficient from mid-range and beyond arc. Got to the lane for kickouts or endured contact to go to the line. Plenty of push a heads off outlets or boards to get into the break phase and 1/2 court flow. Couple O board put backs with one being for an And1. Contains an enthusiastic and competitive edge.

over the past month, but this latest viewing revealed something new in his game. I had already been impressed with Landon’s scoring ability; however, this time, it was his ball handling and ability to beat defenders off the dribble that stood out. Bowers’ use of changes in speed and direction made it increasingly difficult for defenders to stay in front of him.
