Opening night at Prep Hoops Chi-Town Tip Off was very exciting. The theme for night one were the underclassmen from the Catholic league and how talented this group is. Here are Friday night standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2194657' first='Josiah' last='Hall'] St.Ignatius 2028 6'0 Geek Squad

A big guard who shot the lights out of the gym. He made 6 threes showing his range. In the earlier stages of the game he got to the rim using his size over smaller guards while finishing through contact. He led the scoring with 20 points

[player_tooltip player_id='2816850' first='Davuan' last='Bates'] De La Salle 2028 6'0 Geek Squad

The shifty guard scored buckets early off turnovers. Bates played with energy and composure for the majority of the game in an eventual blowout. Davuan knocked down a pair of threes and dished a few dimes in the process. Bates finished with double digits in scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531962' first='Amir' last='Tucker'] St.Ignatius 2028 6'0 [program_tooltip program_id='2414566' first='Mike' last='Glennon Elite']

Very heady guard playing up a level with 16U. He saw the floor well and showed his feel for the game making things easier for all those around him. As a scorer, he made a three early but did the rest of his scoring in the paint. Amir is smooth with the ball and doesn't look to rush anything when the defense picks up. Amir is a balanced PG who's ready to make the next steps in his career.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125603' first='Coy' last='Workman'] Brother Rice 2027 6'5 [program_tooltip program_id='2414566' first='Mike' last='Glennon Elite']

A kid who stole my attention with his activity and constant motor. Coy is a very active big man who can play inside and out. He finished around the basket well with both hands. His drives to the rim were good as well using very nice footwork and balance to finish. On the perimeter, he slides to open areas and made a couple of threes from the wing and the corner. Workman is also tough on the glass as he hit a body first before high-pointing rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2875676' first='Elijah' last='Anderson'] 2026 Bolingbrook 6'7 [program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars']

Anderson is a new name. A big man with nimble feet around the basket. He made some very difficult shots look routine in front of the basket. He has a soft touch with good form. Elijah is a space eater who goes after rebounds and blocked a couple of shots against 1 Dream. Without even looking at stats he for sure had a double-double.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598786' first='Willie' last='Felton'] 2025 Bishop McNamara 1 Dream

Still an unsigned guard that can facilitate like no other. He is shifty in traffic and manages to always hit someone wide open. Felton is a for sure floor leader and did a good job at pacing his team to a victory.
