Most Impressive Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='2149164' first='RJ' last='Moore'] | 6'6 Guard/Wing | Corvian Community

Moore was impressive in showcasing his abilities to lead his team to their first state title in school history with a game-winning 3-pointer in overtime. He's just the beginning in the amount of talent across the board in the 2027 class. Moore produced 23.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest as a sophomore while also knocking down 100 3-pointers. He shot 49 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the arc in putting together an impressive run to a state championship. He's due for a busy grassroots campaign as he suits up with [program_tooltip program_id='2078500' first='Garner' last='Road'] on the Adidas 3SSB stage this spring/summer.

Biggest Riser: [player_tooltip player_id='1280889' first='LJ' last='Smith IV'] | 6'5 Guard | Lincolnton

Smith is a prospect who's really put Lincolnton on the map over the past few months with his scoring prowess. He recently set the single-season scoring mark as a sophomore with 960 points in 2024-25, a record previously held by JamesOn Curry (Eastern Alamance) back in 2001-02. He led Lincolnton to the third round of the NCHSAA upsetting 5-seed Maiden 72-69 in overtime in the second round. He's due to rise as a national prospect after producing 33.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while knocking down 99 3-pointers as a sophomore. Look for him to really up the ante this spring/summer.

Best Shot-Blocker: [player_tooltip player_id='2772410' first='Lusemo' last='Macharia'] | 6'6 Forward | Independence

Macharia continues to keep his name on the PH radar given his ability to operate defensively as a shot-blocker and rim protector. He put up 2.4 blocks per game as a sophomore in 2024-25 as Independence made some noise in the NCHSAA State Playoffs. He recorded a blocked shot in all but six of his 29 appearances for the Patriots and emerged as quite the presence in their frontcourt by season's end. He's a versatile prospect to keep eyes on given his ability to defend multiple positions and create in space off the bounce on the opposite end. Keep an eye on his development this spring/summer.

Top Rebounder: [player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page'] | 6'5 Guard/Wing | Broughton

Page continues to excel on the hardwood by doing more than just score the basketball for Broughton in the 2027 class. He's a prospect who's taken on a ton of responsibility in his second year on the varsity stage and on top of leading the Capitals in scoring (23.1 points per game), he also led the way in rebounds (8.3 per game), assists (3.2) and steals (1.4). He was masterful at getting rebounds out of the net and quickly turning fastbreak opportunities into easy scores for his squad this season. His decision-making with the ball is something to marvel at when evaluating his game.

Top Shooter: [player_tooltip player_id='2272084' first='Kannon' last='McBride'] | 6'2 Shooting Guard | Croatan

He ranked fourth among all sophomores on MaxPreps in 3-pointers made this season with 79. He knocked down 3.2 3-pointers per contest while shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line in 2024-25 for Croatan. He's a prospect who's really starting to find his range after averaging 23.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game as the Cougars went 17-8 on the year and made it to the second round of the NCHSAA 3A State Playoffs. He's a sharpshooter with upside to watch this spring/summer.

Top Playmaker: [player_tooltip player_id='2146888' first='Preston' last='Scott'] | 6'0 Guard | Queen's Grant

Scott is a prospect who knows how to set quite the pace on both ends with his quickness and passing offensively and his ability to force turnovers defensively. He's a heady guard who put on quite the display for Queen's Grant as they made the West Region Finals in NCHSAA 1A action. He led the Stallions this season in assists with 5.6 per game, including a season-high 14 back on Nov. 23 in an 82-60 victory over Huss. He racked up double-figures in assists on five separate occasions in 2024-25 and two double-doubles in just his sophomore year in the backcourt. The future is bright for Scott as he continues to showcase what he can do.
