Today, we continue to unveil our all-state teams from throughout New England by taking a look at the all-state teams for the state of New Hampshire.

As a reminder, here is our approach for selecting these teams.

First, the benefit that we have over say, the NBA, is that we don't have to cast any votes until after the state tournaments have taken place. Because of that, these teams will factor in playoff performances.

In each state we'll name a Player of the Year. That player will earn their own recognition, seperate from the all-state teams.

After that we'll name five players to a 1st team and five more to a 2nd team. Construction of the teams will have less to do with positional make up than it will with trying to honor the prospects we believe had the best seasons.

With that being said, let's take a look at the 2024-2025 Player of the Year and All-State teams from New Hampshire.

Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id='2396775' first='Liam' last='Simpson'] - La Salle Academy

The Gatorade Player of the Year in Rhode Island, Simpson helped lead La Salle Academy to a Rhode Island State Championship, as well as the RIIL Division 1 Championship. Along the way, he had impressive averages of 12.1 points per game, 15.2 rebounds per game, and 5.4 assists per game and was seemingly at his best in the most important moments, finishing the state championship with a 21 point - 18 rebound double-double. A high IQ, playmaking forward, he has the ability to operate from either low block, the elbows, and the high post, proving to be one of the best passing big men in the region. His instincts defensively allowed him to guard any position on the floor, while his compete level was a major reason why he was among the top rebounders in the area.

1st Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2553697' first='Eliezer' last='Delbrey'] - Classical

A true scoring guard, Delbrey was a key piece to the puzzle for a Classical team that made a run to the semifinals of the Rhode Island State Tournament. He's a high level athlete on the perimeter that passed the 1,000 point mark for his high school career in just his junior season. A three level scorer, he plays with a nice combination of athleticism, feel for the game, and creativity. He gets to his spots off the bounce, finishes with toughness at the rim, and can really make shots in the mid-range. He's terrific in the open floor, covering a lot of ground and quickly getting to the rim, where he's hard to guard. Defensively, he has a nose for the ball off the glass and is one of the better defensive rebounders from the guard position. He quickly turns defense and turnovers into offensive opportunities.

1st Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2546943' first='James' last='Caldarella'] - Bishop Hendricken

A lead guard that impacted winning on both ends of the floor, Caldarella helped Bishop Hendricken reach the championship game in both the Rhode Island State Tournament and the RIIL Division 1 Tournament. He gave Bishop Hendricken a reliable scorer and creator on the perimeter, proving to be a good decision maker with the ball in his hands. He was really good in ball screens, showing a solid feel for the game and an understanding of how to get the best look for the team. When he went into scorer mode, he did a nice job of moving without the basketball, but also showed some serious shot creation ability with the ball in his hands. On top of all that, he was one of the better perimeter shooters in the state and a big time competitor.

1st Team: Jacob Marcone - La Salle Academy

A big time wing scorer for La Salle Academy, Marcone was monumental in his team's success on their way to the Rhode Island State Championship, as well as the RIIL Division 1 Championship. One of the top shooters in the state, he does a great job of spacing the floor and moving into passing windows to make it easy for his teammates to find him. He's always shot read and has a compact shooting stroke with a high release, allowing him to get his shot off at almost any time. He makes good decisions with the basketball in his hands and did a nice job of limiting turnovers while keeping the ball moving in the flow of the offense. He always had to be accounted for in transition because of his shooting and did a nice job of making decisions on the break with the ball in his hands. His floor spacing really elevated La Salle's offense this winter.

1st Team: Abdul Evans - Classical

An attacking guard for Classical, Evans played a major role in helping his team to reach the semifinal round of the Rhode Island State Tournament. A strong athlete that was at his best when attacking the rim, he had big scoring games throughout the winter, but always found other ways to contribute to winning basketball games. A bully guard that could really get into the paint off the bounce, he was seemingly in attack mode from tip off to the final buzzer every time he took the floor. He did a good job of creating space with the ball in his hands, changed directions and speeds quickly, and had the ability to play through contact in the paint. He was a versatile defender that could rebound in traffic and did a nice job of creating steals and defelctions as an off ball defender.

1st Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2553759' first='Donovan' last='Clement'] - Moses Brown

One of the most versatile forwards in Rhode Island, Clement helped lead Moses Brown to a birth in the Rhode Island State Tournament, as well as winning the RIIL Division 2 Tournament. He's incredibly long and with great size at the forward spot, made his presence felt defensively every time he took the floor. He did a nice job of protecting the rim, particularly as a last line of defense, racking up blocks and initiating the break out in transition. He was able to rebound in space and always had his eyes up as an outlet passer. Offensively, maybe his most impressive trait, was his ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. Whether in transition or in the half court, he had to be accounted for on the perimeter as he was able to not only make shots, but also put the ball on the floor and attack the rim.

2nd Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2711392' first='James' last='Wilson'] - South Kingstown

A versatile offensive performer and the RIBCA Division 2 Player of the Year, Wilson helped South Kingstown to earn a birth in the Rhode Island State Tournament. A lefty combo guard, he's a gifted scorer that has the ability to get baskets at multiple levels. He can really shoot the ball with range and has a high release on his jump shot. He does a good job of getting into his mid-range game off the bounce and excels as a finisher at the rim, using either hand to complete plays by the basket. While he's really skilled on the offensive end of the floor, he's equally as important on the defensive side as he shows an ability to guard any spot on the perimeter and is a good rebounder in space.

2nd Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2571909' first='John' last='Ramos'] - Central

One of the top scorers in the state, Ramos burst onto the scene as a freshman and helped lead Central to an appearance in the Rhode Island State Tournament semifinals. A gifted shot creator, he's an electric isolation scorer that uses a quick first step, good burst, and a tight handle to get into the paint off the bounce. He has good positional size and solid length, both of which already make him an impressive guard physically. While he's lean, he isn't afraid of contact and has proven to be a creative scorer when he meets size at the rim. His mid-range game and ability to shoot the three are both already at a high level. Defensively, he has good instincts off the ball, which allows him to create plenty of steals and deflections.

2nd Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2811985' first='Kyle' last='Prete'] - North Providence

One of just six 1,000 point scorers in North Providence history, Prete was a versatile wing that helped his team earn the top overall seed in the RIIL Division 2 Tournament. At 6'5", he proved to be ultra versatile, particularly on the defensive end of the floor. With his length, he was disruptive at the top of the press, while in the halfcourt, he was able to protect the rim and also to rebound the basketball at a really high level. Offensively, he could score with his back to the basket, but also did a good job of playing out of the trailer position in transition. From the top of the key he could knock down catch and shoot jumpers or put the ball on the floor to attack the basket. His ability to consistently score the basketball made him one of the btter forwards in the state.

2nd Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2547070' first='Jakob' last='Reyes'] - Bishop Hendricken

A dynamic combo guard that impacted games on both ends of the floor, Reyes played a big role in helping Bishop Hendricken reach the finals of the Rhode Island State Tournament and the RIIL Division 1 Tournament. He's another big guard with long arms and, for an undersized Bishop Hendricken team, was able to give them a real spark on the defensive glass. He guard multiple positions and even when matched up in the post, didn't back down from the challenge. He was really good offensively in transition, using his quickness and length to get out and get some easy scoring opportunities at the rim. He thrived in the halfcourt as a shooter, doing a good job of spacing the floor and moving without the basketball, he was able to consistently knock down multiple threes every game.

2nd Team: [player_tooltip player_id='2875616' first='Ryan' last='Rigamonti'] - Barrington

The frontcourt star for Barrington, Rigamonti provided a major presence in the paint and helped his team earn a birth in the Rhode Island State Tournament. He's a high motor forward that plays physically on the defensive end of the floor as well as on the glass, but shows a good amount of skill on the offensive end of the floor. He had the ability to step out and hit a mid-range jumper, but was at his best making plays around the rim. He did a nice job of setting screens, rolled hard to the basket, and showed good hands that allowed him to catch everything thrown his way. He scored with force around the rim, but also played off a variety of pivots and step-throughs. Defensively, he single handedly was able to control the glass and he provided his team with a physical post defender that could protect the rim without fouling.
