He can jump out of the gym and and can accelerate in a hurry. Those attributes allow him to get both blocks and steals on the defensive end. On offense, Thompson likes to get downhill if possible. He led the team in scoring and many of buckets came off of 3-pointers (37 to be exact). Dodson also cleaned the glass and had 6.1 rebounds per game. Townsend picks up speed faster than his opponents expect. Which allows him to get some separation and once he is near the rim he can usually finish. His speed is also helpful on the defensive end, as he is able to beat opponents to their spots.
