The 2024-25 season was full of competitive matchups and impressive individual player performances, and the Super Essex Conference provided much of that throughout the course of the regular season. With the regular season wrapped up and postseason play nearly at the finish line, let's take another look at some guys that had strong seasons this year, in the backcourt in the Super Essex Conference's American Division.

Operating as the primary ball handler, Jaren Barnett used good poise and patience to be an effective playmaker for Montclair Immaculate's offense. Barnett's ability to get in the paint and attack the basket opened up scoring opportunities not only for himself to finish around the basket but also for his teammates throughout the course of the season.

Extremely effective off the ball throughout the course of the season, Va'Saun Harper showed flashes of being able to knock down open perimeter shots while also attacking closeouts. Harper also showed flashes of being able to create his own shot in appropriate situations. Harper's sophomore season showed he's capable of being an effective piece on offense.

Providing a much needed spark to Montclair Immaculate's offense, [player_tooltip player_id='2504780' first='Infinite' last='Sincere'] showed a lot of flashes of being able to create his own shot offensively. Through an array of hesitation dribbles and dribble combo moves, Sincere displayed his ability to either get to the basket or knock down mid range pull ups. Sincere also displayed his ability to knock down open shots from the perimeter throughout the course of his freshman season at Montclair Immaculate.

After an impressive freshman year that saw him shine primarily as a catch and shoot threat, [player_tooltip player_id='2344534' first='James' last='Roberts']' sophomore season saw an improvement in his offensive skillset. Getting more comfortable with putting the ball on the floor and creating offense for himself, Roberts averaged 16.8 PPG, a large improvement from his 10 PPG average just a year ago. Roberts' sophomore jump not only saw him get to the basket more but also knock down more mid range pull ups. Roberts also improved in his ability to get to the free throw line.

Ryan English showcased his abilty to be a lethal threat from three point range for East Orange's offense this season. English's senior year saw him have a handful of performances that saw him make multiple threes. With a nice and smooth release, English displayed his ability to be effective off the ball and provide spacing for East Orange this season.

On the way to breaking Dajuan Wagner's single season scoring record for a freshman in the state of New Jersey, [player_tooltip player_id='2349988' first='Michai' last='White']'s freshman season was full of multiple 30 point performances. White, night in and night out, showcased so much of what makes him a special prospect as just a freshman— a knack for creating off the dribble and an advanced ability to break his defender down and score the basketball. Averaging 26.2 PPG, White showed he's capable of not only being a perimeter threat but also a guy that puts pressure on the rim and gets to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504745' first='Chase' last='Bray']'s freshman season saw him shine primarily as a shot maker for St. Benedict's offense. Despite being undersized, Bray showcased his ability to not only knock down shots from the perimeter both off the catch and off the dribble but also knock down mid range pull ups. Bray was without a doubt one of the most high impact freshman in the state of New Jersey this season.
