The North Jersey 2 Group 4 tournament tips on Thursday and it is full of prospects who are set to have big tournaments. Here are the North Jersey 2 Group 4 X-Factors.

[player_tooltip player_id='1889492' first='Najai' last='Hines'], 6'9 C Plainfield 2025

Hines has been a force since becoming eligible as he is a walking double-double. The 6'9 post runs the floor well, setting himself up for easy layups around the basket. Hines is capable of dominating games on the interior for the Cardinals as he looks to lead Plainfield to its first sectional title since 2012.

[player_tooltip player_id='1557545' first='Cameron' last='McRae'], 5'10 PG Elizabeth 2025

McRae stepped up big for the Minutemen during their run to the Group 4 final. The 5'10 guard has a good handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. McRae can also thread passes to is open teammates and his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands will be key for Elizabeth to repeat as state champions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2766360' first='Quinn' last='Dashefsky'], 6'2 SG Ridge 2025

Dashefsky has the ability to play either spot on the perimeter, making him an intriguing prospect to watch in the class. The 6'2 guard has a nice first step, which he uses to get to the rim off the bounce and can finish through contact. Dashefsky makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, which will help Ridge make a deep run in the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948970' first='Donald' last='Nwaigwe'], 6'4 SF Piscataway 2026

Nwaigwe has shown the potential to play either forward spot and has the potential to have a big state tournament. The 6'4 forward has a good faceup game as he can put the ball on the floor and finishes well around the basket. Nwaigwe has five double-doubles this season and should add to that total during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1859529' first='Tyshawn' last='Pearson'], 6'0 CG Westfield 2025

Pearson has been playing at a high level all season long and will be looking to end his varsity career with a deep postseason run. The 6'0 guard is a tough on-ball defender as he makes it hard for his man to get to his spot on the floor and gets deflections to force turnovers. Pearson is averaging 14.5 points and 4.5 steals per game over his last two games and is looking to carry over that play into the state tournament.

Jack Sponheimer, G Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2025

Sponheimer has taken a big step up this season as he has more than doubled his scoring from last year. He has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Scotch Plains-Fanwood are 3-1 on the season when Sponheimer hits four or more threes, which is something that he will look to do during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763424' first='Markeis' last='Isley-Monroe'], 6'6 PF Dickinson 2025

Isley-Monroe has been lighting up the box score throughout the season and should continue it during the state tournament. The 6'6 forward has a good touch around the rim and can also pass out of the post. Isley-Monroe has four triple-doubles on the season and will try to add to that total during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595682' first='Jayden' last='Holman'], 6'1 PG Linden 2026

Holman has made an immediate impact in his debut season with the Tigers as he leads the team in scoring, assists and steals. The 6'1 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor and finishes in a variety of ways around the basket. Holman has only 10 points in his last two games combined and will need to step up his scoring for Linden to make a deep postseason run.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421322' first='Matt' last='Scerbo'], 6'2 SG Phillipsburg 2025

Scerbo has done a little bit of everything for the Stateliners, scoring over 1,100 points and dishing out almost 300 assists in the last two seasons. The Lafayette football commit uses his size to see over his defender and rises up with confidence on his jumper. Scerbo is averaging 29.3points per game over his last three games and should continue his hot scoring streak during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2789859' first='Dave' last='Kobryn'], 6'2 SG Bayonne 2028

Kobryn is averaging 15.5 points per game over his last four games and is looking to maintain that average during the state tournament. The 6'2 guard has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Kobryn is getting more comfortable within the flow of the offense and his ability to hit shots in key situations will help Bayonne during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628221' first='Jazmir' last='Taylor'], 5'10 PG Irvington 2026

Taylor has been one of the most electric scorers in the section this season as he has eclipsed 600 points on the season. The 5'10 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and can shoot either off the catch or bounce. Taylor has five games with at least 30 or more points and will be looking to have more games like that in the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1472516' first='David' last='Ekhelar'], 6'8 C Newark Eastside 2025

Ekhelar has taken a step up offensively this season and is looking to help the Red Raiders make noise during the state tournament. The 6'8 post fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his size to swat shots around the rim. Ekhelar's ability to control the paint at both ends of the floor is something that will help Newark Eastside during the opening round of the state tournament.

Tyler Hamby, 6'4 F Bridgewater-Raritan 2027

Hamby is averaging 13.7 points per game over his last three games and is looking to carry that over into the state tournament. The 6'4 forward knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Hamby can also knock down shots from behind the arc and will be looking to put that on display during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812475' first='Carl' last='Matala'], 6'1 SG Union 2025

Matala has taken over as the go-to scorer from the Farmers this season and will need to have a big game in the state tournament. The 6'1 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and sets his feet before he shoots. Matala has scored 20 points or more twice in his last three games, which should carry over into the state tournament.

Bryan Anderson, G Woodbridge 2025

Anderson has been in the middle of a strong season for the Barrons as he leads the team in points, rebounds and steals. He works hard on the boards and knows how to push the pace in transition. Anderson can make plays at both ends of the floor and will need to do that in the opening round of the state tournament for Woodbridge to pull off the first round upset.

Lavion Balthazar, 6'3 PF Perth Amboy 2025

Balthazar has been a force in the paint for Perth Amboy all season and has six straight games with a double-double. The 6'3 forward knows how to get position down low and can draw contact in the post. Balthazar is a force on the glass and will need to be at his best for Perth Amboy to pull off the first round upset in the state tournament.
