19p 6a 5r 1b 2s vs Georgetown Prep

-From the jump, Stevens was getting to it in a rivalry matchup with G Prep. The Marquette commit repeatedly put pressure on the rim, relentlessly attacking his matchup's outside shoulder to get downhill to lay the ball up off of acrobatic spin moves in the paint. Stevens adjusted well to hit a double clutch lay off the window through the contact, hit a baseline turnaround when his defender shaded to his top shoulder, and did a phenomenal job of play-making from the midpost or short corner with his back to the basket. Love the adjustments he's made to his body to allow him to decelerate quickly off the bounce, pulling up on a dime to then explode in the opposite direction to gaps in the defense. Set out on a mission to embarrass his opponent and he successfully did that-- using the scoring gravity from his first half barrage to then find open teammates in the 2H.

-McDonough got it going late to bring his team back at home to within striking distance. His first 3 was off the bounce after rejecting a screen to pull up from the left wing. He then rattling off 3 straight makes off the catch before scoring on a baseline drive through the contact, converting on the old-fashioned 3-point play with a made FT. Loved the IQ to time a baseline backdoor cut to mirror his teammate's slice to the basket from the opposite slot to open up an easy catch and finish opportunity.

-Paschall was cooking with GAS in a big home matchup with Largo. The stocky guard got to it early, hitting his first four 3s of the night off of great off-ball movement to create easy looks at the rim. Paschall read the defense well and came off a side ball screen with great pace to quickly curl around the screen before getting into a smooth pull-up jumper from the elbow. Loved his defensive activity in this one, recovering after his matchup got the step to meet him at the rim with a block in the halfcourt before collecting a help side block in transition later in the quarter. His shot-making (6/11 from beyond the arc) should make him a valuable commodity down the stretch run of the season for a City College team looking to make some postseason noise.

28p 8a 3r 2s vs Sandy Spring

-In an area loaded with point guard talent in each glass, Wills tends to get overlooked. But he made sure to make a statement in this one, stepping up for an STA team missing a few pieces to make a late run in this matchup with Sandy Spring. Will's rip and 1-dribble fader from 15 feet is absolutely money in the halfcourt, two such shots got him going in the 1Q before he began attacking the rim. Wills hit a fall-away pull up in the key, scored on a stride step into the floater off glass, swooped in to hit a double clutch layup with the left off the window, and hit a double cross into the one-dribble pull to make it an 8-point game late after his team trailed by 20+. The passing also really stood out in this one as Wills proved that he can throw darts off the bounce with either hand. Thought he did a great job of creating easy looks for his bigs off the bounce, with the best example being a rocket of a one-handed whip pass over the defense to the cutter on the opposite block from well beyond the 3 point line.

-Harper stepped up for his team offensively to build a GZ lead early in the game with some clutch perimeter shooting at the end of shot clocks. Harper scored off a 1-dribble baseline pull-up from the wing in traffic, hit his big with a beautiful chest pass off the baseline drive on the ensuing possession for an easy two, and did a good job of probing the defense from the wings. Liked that he defended at a pretty high level without fouling, staying disciplined to force some tough looks at the rim from all 3 levels without surrendering his ground.
