Admittedly, this was not the game that I planned on covering on Tuesday night. The original plan was to cover Park Tudor's contest against Terre Haute North. However, when I pulled into the Park Tudor parking lot at about 6:45 and it was completely empty I knew something wasn't right. Unfortunately, due to the threat of some inclement weather, the game had been cancelled at the last minute. I immediately pulled up John Harrell's website and found the most logical alternative that I would be able to make it to in time and that turned out to be this matchup between Roncalli and Scecina Memorial.

Scecina Memorial's zone defense kept the pace pretty slow in this one. Roncalli is a very good passing team, but was almost unselfish to a fault in a game where they pretty clearly had the talent advantage. Scecina was certainly content to let the Royals pass it around and it kept them in the game for the most part.

Left-handed guard Noah Schmaltz connected on a two three-point shots in an otherwise uneventful first quarter. Then, Luke Feldman got going in the second quarter scoring eight points in the period to help build a 24-15 Roncalli lead. However, a couple of buckets by Caleb Davis and an And-1 from [player_tooltip player_id='2617866' first='Jaylin' last='Foster'] brought the Crusaders back in the third quarter. They got it within four points with the ball at one point and ultimately trailed 33-28 heading into the final quarter.

Roncalli did finally flex their muscles a bit in the fourth and pull away from Scecina. Feldman got it going again while both [player_tooltip player_id='1989375' first='Conner' last='Kesler'] and Luke Baker connected on three-point shots to rebuild a comfortable advantage for the Royals. Roncalli would go on to win 48-32 to move to 13-6 on the season. Scecina Memorial fell to 6-13 with the loss.

Junior guard Luke Feldman scored 17 points to the pace the Royals in this one. He averages just 4.8 points per game on the season, but stepped up in a big way on Tuesday evening. Sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2414734' first='Will' last='Hegwood'] added 7 points and 5 assists while junior big man [player_tooltip player_id='2046166' first='Joe' last='Taylor'] pulled down 12 rebounds in the game.

For Scecina Memorial, it was talented freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2617866' first='Jaylin' last='Foster'] leading the way with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots. The 6'4" wing has a very bright future. Senior guard Clifford Brown also scored 8 points while junior Caleb Davis chipped in 7 points for the Crusaders.
