On Monday PHI unveiled our latest 2028 Watch List which expanded to 50 players. This list is not a ranking!!! It is 50 prospects that we have seen early in the process who we feel are worth noting and monitoring early on. Some freshman play a ton on varsity while some only play JV. That doesn't mean one will be more successful than the other. We are looking at the long game! These are players to keep an eye on for down the road as a prospect. Here we examine a few of those players in 2028 Watch List: New Additions!

PG/Combos

[player_tooltip player_id='2751053' first='Jacob' last='Only'] (St. Viator)

Only caught our attention at the Wheeling Hardwood Classic as a 6'0” point guard who has a lengthy frame and a good feel. Like how he finds his guys, pushes in the open floor, and has active hands on the defensive end. Capable shooter as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2751058' first='Kyron' last='King-Warr'] (Bloomington)

Really liked what we saw out of King-Warr at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament. The 5'10” point guard has slick handles getting in the lane for nifty finishes. Has some juice to his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531995' first='Eze' last='Nwagwu'] (St. Rita)

Nwagwu has put his name on the radar during his freshman season. The 5'7” lead guard has long arms with some projection to grow. Fluid shooter in the mid-range and out to three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2411146' first='Edwin' last='Karnauchovas'] (Buffalo Grove)

This is a crafty 5'10” point guard that has impacted as a freshman for Buffalo Grove. Soft touch finishing game is his strength along with other nifty finishes around the cup.

Wings

[player_tooltip player_id='2751060' first='Brady' last='Jones'] (Metamora)

Jones is one of the more productive freshman who plays on a high profile team. He is a major part of what Metamora does. The 6'3” small forward has the size and strength to impact right away. There is a lot of skill in there too as he is a plus spot up shooter off the catch, cuts very well off the ball, and can play with physicality driving downhill. Also is a solid wing passer and rebounds very well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381555' first='Kendall' last='Howell'] (Decatur MacArthur)

Howell is a 6'2” shooting guard that is a rangy defender. Fluid in transition with good handles getting downhill. Solid rebounder for a wing. Plus athlete!

[player_tooltip player_id='2369863' first='KT' last='Thomas'] (Decatur MacArthur)

Thomas is another intriguing wing from Decatur MacArthur that is very good in transition along with creativity finishing around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2751256' first='Archie' last='Goewey'] (Centralia)

Goewey made noise as a freshman starting quarterback for the Orphans this season. Well as a hooper the 2028 6'3” small forward has gone out and won MVP of both the Centralia Holiday Tournament and Salem Invitational Tournaments. Plays well within the system they run. Strong build with a nice skill set. Showed some creativity with the ball in his hands on straight line takes from the high and mid-post areas. Cuts well off the ball. Competes on the defensive end including blocking shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2751064' first='Cesaire' last='Bile'] (Galesburg)

Bile jumped off the floor at us when we were watching them against Rock Island. Long and rangy 6'3” small forward that should continue to grow. Looked comfortable banging in a corner three. Solid rebounder and has potential as a defender. Still pretty raw with the ball skills, but he has plenty of time on his side.

Posts

[player_tooltip player_id='2395586' first='Amir' last='Beasley'] (Danville)

Beasley as we previously discussed is a pure upside play at this stage. The long and athletic 6'7” front court player will flash with his hops, quickness, and second jump around the hoop. His best basketball is still to come!
