Moore vs Putnam City North featured some of the best guards in Oklahoma, with scoring specialist [player_tooltip player_id='1391441' first='Roman' last='Miller'] shining bright in the win. At Del City, Lawton made pushes to pull away from a stingy Eagles squad. But in the closing seconds it was Del City that maintained an edge thanks to the heroics of junior [player_tooltip player_id='2723504' first='Champ' last='Brewer'].

What got Miller started on the night wasn't scoring at first, it was a pair of athletic blocks at the rim in the first half. Then the scoring starting to flow, especially in the second half. He has parking lot range from three and can do damage all over the court. During one stretch, he hit his signature spin move, which includes great body control plus long arms to finish at the rim. Also got loose after setting a ball screen for a two handed oop. Miller is having a scintillating senior season, with a full scoring bag and this was a statement win for Moore to stay in the race for the Class 6A District 1 title.

The heart of the Lawton squad, Deans is one of the toughest match ups. Post ups and dominates guards at the rim. While also being too quick and now skilled enough to go by or shoot over forwards who try to match up with him. Is a menace on defense, as evident by a chase down block in transition. Remains a ferocious rebounder on both ends of the court. The Wolverines continue to position themselves for a run to the Class 5A State Tournament, and it often starts with the tone set by Deans.

Sparkplug guard, who brought timely scoring throughout, including the biggest play of the night. Down one in the closing seconds, Brewer caught a pass, drilled the triple and was even fouled. He put the finishing touches on the game with the ensuing free throw for a four point play. Along with the late game heroics, had a good scoring spurt in transition. Pulled up with confidence for one triple, while also running the floor to get to the rim for easy scores. Key part of the Wolverines' junior core that provides them with the depth to compete for a 5A state title.

Dangerous off the dribble, it's getting increasingly harder to keep Brown from getting to his spots. Hit tough turnaround and stepback shots in the mid-range. Slipped by the defense and had a great slip feed on a drive as well. Skied high to block the opposing big for his customary "where did he come from" block. Consistency has been a key for Brown, and he's thriving this year as one of the best guards in Oklahoma.

Good stretch in the second quarter where Hines embraced his height and athleticism by attempting to take over the paint. Run the floor hard, often beating guards back to get transition points. Also worked harder to try to get position on the block. Has good overall skillset, next step to his evolution will be trying to dunk everything around the rim. Represents the ability to unlock the ceiling for a Lions squad that is filled with big time guard play.

Burly football player who provided the offensive spark for the Eagles. Was an problem on the low block with his strong frame. Takes contact with ease for "And 1" plays. Has a couple moves on the block too, with ball fakes and power dribbles. Hit some clutch free throws late that gave Del City a momentarily lead. Good embodiment of the toughness and grind it out mentality the Eagles have with their heavy dual sport roster.

Pesky "3 and D" guard that popped up in key moments to provide energy for Moore. Knocked down a few triples, which is vital for floor spacing to help open it for Miller and Hankins. Gets after it on defense too, no back down against the fast paced Panthers squad. A senior guard who's urgency as the season progresses will allow him to make his mark in big games.

When Putnam City North looked dead in the water, it was the junior who caught fire from three that helped swing the game. Knocked down big three three pointers throughout their rally attempt, also was fouled on another. There's a rotating cast of role players who find moments to shine for North, and add Schoats to the list of players who are empowered by the Panthers coaching staff to make plays in key moments.
