One of the most skilled players in the state regardless of class, Gunther is a killer from the point guard position. With the ability to create for himself off the bounce by changing speeds, direction and using his ball handling ability to create a shot for himself or make a pass for a teammate to score. The type of point guard who can make something out of nothing in the half-court. I'm very excited to see how Gunther plays on the grassroots scene as he could become a name people outside of northeast Ohio become very familiar with by the time the summer ends.

Lakota West's 2027 group has been a highly discussed topic even after losing Lincoln Cosby to OTE. That's because they have two guards in the top 6 of our rankings with Tyson making his climb after a strong start to his Sophomore season. A point guard who is a strong defender, Tyson has the quickness, frame and size to be an impact defender at the college level. Tyson's efficiency has also been on full display this season with him currently shooting 66% from the floor and 40% from 3-point range according to the GMC official website. I expect Tyson's stock to continue to rise heading into this spring, he just received an offer from West Virginia.

One of the more intriguing players from central Ohio's 2027 class, Reynolds has as much defensive upside as any player in the state from this class. He's grown a couple inches since he was a freshman and his length gives him the ability to block shots at the rim. He also moves his feet well for his size and can switch onto guards if needed. The offense is a work in progress but Reynolds is showing enough flashes where he's climbing up our rankings at the moment. I think Olentangy Liberty is a sneaky threat to win a region this season and they'll need Reynolds to play tough if they want to make that deep playoff push I believe they are capable of.

One of the few players where having multiple positions makes sense as Bertke has the size to play at the small forward position and defend wings but also the ball handling ability to run the show at the point guard position. He's helped Lima Shawnee get off to a 9-2 first half to their season. The upside with Bertke is obvious as there aren't many players at his size and age that can dribble, pass and shoot at the level Bertke is capable of. One of the highest upside prospects from northwest Ohio in the class of 2027.
