A player I got to see on the 3SSB circuit before he moved to Ohio, Carney is a rhythm scorer who has a pretty left-handed jumper that goes in at a high rate. He came to Ohio holding offers from Bucknell, Bryant, Radford and Akron, Carney was also offered by Fairfield University this week. A guard who can make shots off the catch or dribble and play on or off the ball, it's easy to see why Division I programs have made Carney a priority.

Another Western Reserve Academy guard, Sprauge comes from New York and plays for the City Rocks. A shifty guard off the dribble, Sprauge can really punish a defense by attacking the basket using his variety of dribble moves to beat the primary defender. Always in attack mode, Sprauge plays with a lot of energy on both ends of the court. Still need to see more games from Sprauge to see just how well he shoots the ball from the outside and if he can be a primary ball handler and take care of the basketball. To me, Sprauge projects as a Division I target and should get plenty of looks in the summer.

The third Barnett brother is on his way to following in his older brothers' footsteps as college basketball players. The oldest Marquis is currently at Kent State while the Quinn is at Walsh. I've been impressed with the burst and athleticism Sean plays with, very similar to the way his siblings also played on the court. I'm impressed with the dynamic play Barnett has on the ball with the ability to change speeds, direction and be acrobatic in the air as a shooter or passer. Also a standout quarterback, Barnett could choose the gridiron as his collegiate future as well and some of his creativity on the hardwood can probably be traced to him scrambling around with a helmet on during the fall. A fun player to watch in northeast Ohio's 2026 class.

One of the elite shooters in Ohio, Santiago Lugo had some bright moments with the Puerto Rico national team at a youth level in the past. Few players in Ohio have experience on the international stage and Santiago Lugo can check that box. As a sophomore, Santiago Lugo shot 44% from 3-point range on over 150 attempts! Despite a slow start to this season, I expect Santiago Lugo to return to form when he gets back from an injury.

Summit Country Day has had a strong start to their season and Stocks has hit the ground running with some efficient performances to open up his Junior season. A dynamic guard who has excellent quickness and change of pace, Stocks can throw off the defense with his unique rhythm off the dribble. Also flashing the ability to make shots from the perimeter, Stocks hit a 3-pointer in each of his first three games this season. Lots of upside with Stocks who is a name we'll be closely monitoring this summer.

Spencerville is one of the top teams in northwest Ohio and the Sensabaugh name leads the way with Kevin (head coach) Owen (junior) and Will (sophomore) leading the charge. I was impressed with how Owen played poised and under control during the summer with NW Ohio at the 16 U level. Able to make shots off the catch, play off two feet and hit open teammates, Sensabaugh has a high feel for the game and helps his team win. Hopefully I'll be able to catch Spencerville in playoff action this spring before Sensabaugh prepares for his 17 U grassroots season.
