Expert Analysis

On a team that shares the ball as well as Northwest Ohio does, a scorer like Sensabaugh has an easy time getting high quality looks and scores at a very efficient rate. A knockdown shooter off the catch who also runs the floor for easy transition layups and has the touch and athleticism to make contested shots at the rim, Sensabaugh is a very skilled offensive player. While Sensabaugh and Leppelmeier have already made our 2026 rankings, I found a handful of new names that impressed me from Northwest Ohio as well that were added to our radar to be added to our 2026 rankings during the next update!

Sensabaugh is just a really good basketball player. He does everything well and does not make mistakes, which is perfect for a point guard. He is a good athlete and gets to the rim well. He impacted the game greatly and when he was out of the game his absence was felt. The game got a little chippy and Sensabaugh turned up. He isn’t the biggest player on the floor but he is not afraid to get physical and show his toughness.

Spencerville is one of the top teams in northwest Ohio and the Sensabaugh name leads the way with Kevin (head coach) Owen (junior) and Will (sophomore) leading the charge. I was impressed with how Owen played poised and under control during the summer with NW Ohio at the 16 U level. Able to make shots off the catch, play off two feet and hit open teammates, Sensabaugh has a high feel for the game and helps his team win. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch Spencerville in playoff action this spring before Sensabaugh prepares for his 17 U grassroots season.

Sensabaugh is a sniper. He came out and hit two threes to start the game and it continued from there. He has good point guard skills like ball handling and passing. His shooting was the main skill on display was his shooting. He needed little to no space to get his shot off. He has a quick release to his shot.

Sensabaugh flat out knows how to play and that stands out at a showcase style event. Able to move without the basketball and get open, Sensabaugh can knock down shots when his feet are set. I’m really high on the upside of Spencerville this winter and Sensabaugh is a key reason for that. Glad I got to see Sensabaugh in the spring with NW Ohio at a Prep Hoops Circuit event so I knew what to expect from his game, he stuck to what he does well and that’s why he was successful on Sunday.

Sensabaugh is a player that I think woke a lot of people up too. I had a lot of people asking me about this kid because of how much they liked his game. He is an extremely tough player and can defend any guard. I liked his ability to get to the rim and seems to be ready to go for a huge junior year. He has great confidence in his game and looks ready to go for a bigger role this year for Spencerville. Plays the game just the right way.

Sensabaugh is a tough and intelligent junior point guard with sneaky athleticism. His high basketball IQ allows him to read defenses and make quick decisions, while his unselfish play style makes him a reliable facilitator. He knows when to score. He can take over games when needed. Can score at all three levels and has a good touch. His toughness is shown on the defensive end because he is not afraid to guard anyone and apply a ton of pressure.

NW Ohio has made it to the final four in all three age groups and Sensabaugh had a big day on Saturday to keep them moving along in the championship bracket. I was very impressed with the basketball IQ Sensabaugh showed me with his ability to play off the ball. Whether it was moving to spot up, make a backdoor cut, curl off a screen or run in transition, Sensabaugh was making scoring look simple with his teammates finding him on time and on target. I think a majority of his buckets ended up being at the rim due to cuts or screens from Sensabaugh and he finished at the rim efficiently. On Sunday in the semifinals, we’ll get to see Sensabaugh’s team against some even more talented opposition who should give a tougher defensive look.
