Recent In Game Evaluations

It's time to clean up the notebooks a bit and get some of my recent in game player evaluations on paper. These are all from the last week and cover talented players that stood out at games that I saw.    Lovejoy should have been ranked on the last update. He's a steady lead guard that made good decisions with the ball. Lovejoy factored in on both ends of the floor when I saw him play, getting back on D quickly and even stopping am opponents fast break opportunity just by hustling. He showed a nice change of pace coming off a screen, attacking the basket for a righty layup. Lovejoy had a couple catch and shoot triples in the game as well. He showed his ability to distribute with an on target bounce pass to a cutter.     This was my first chance to evaluate Paspal's game and I liked what I saw. He's a definite power forward at this point, but he showed that he can shoot, hitting a catch and shoot triple from the top. Paspal also showed the ability to snag the ball and rebound in traffic. He was also able to score from the free throw line and off a put back bucket.     The Iowa State commit was just at a different level when I saw him play. It was his perimeter and pressure defense that stood out the most. Moore was just at a different speed and quickness defensively, forcing a handful of turnovers. And he turned those TO's into instant easy offense on the other end with layup and dunk finishes as well as assists. Moore showed the ability to push the pace with the pass when he advanced the ball by rifling a 1 handed pass up the floor for an assist.     Provancher played a huge role in the Brighton win that I watched. He was flat out big time on the defensive end of the floor. He's such a valuable post defender with the potential to have a tremendous next level frame. Provancher can already defend with power in the paint. He absolutely controlled the defensive glass, especially in the 3rd quarter of the game. Provancher even added a couple of blocks for good measure.     Brown is a must see prospect for any college coach looking for that steal in their 2025 class. I say it every time I see him play, but I love what he can do on the defensive end of the floor. Brown is so effective in trapping situations. He instinctively plays angles and has active hands, but doesn't foul. Brown had a pretty pass in transition for an assist and had multiple put back buckets in the win. He showed solid body control on an off balance leaner off the glass for 2.
