[player_tooltip player_id='2461162' first='Alaijah' last='Young'] put on quite the show in SLAM's matchup with Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. He wasted no time filling up the stat sheet, and scored 11 points in the first quarter. Young was utilizing his acceleration and deceleration skills to shake his defenders. I also liked how he was constantly changing direction. His elusive attacking skills gave the Pirates defense fits all night and they never really figured out how to stop him. Young finished the game with an impressive 31 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2723600' first='MJ' last='Tucker'] (Freshman) displayed some confidence in the first quarter. He was getting to his spots, and had 10 points in the blink of an eye. SLAM's defense began to key on him from there on out, which made things a bit more difficult for him. He began to attack the rim again in the 4th quarter, and scored 6 more points that way. Tucker finished with 17 points.

Cruz-Lara was a matchup nightmare for the Pinecrest Sloan Canyon forwards. He used his size and physicality to set up his shots, and shot right over the top of the Pirates defenders. On defense, he was protecting the paint and came up with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Expect to see his name in the next rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2698831' first='Jael' last='Cousett'] (Freshman) made some solid contributions for the Bulls varsity squad on Tuesday night. On offense, he was looking to get downhill and hit some tough finishes. He also splashed in a 3. On defense, he had a steal near mid-court that he then took the rest of the way for an easy 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='2723605' first='Damon' last='Ameperosa'] made his presence felt on defense, and swatted 3 shots away over the course of the game. I was also a fan of some of his takes to the rim. He showed some good speed, ball-handling and creativity. Ameperosa finished the game as the Pirates second leading scorer, with 16 points.
