SLAM’s leading scorer from last year is now going to Paragon Academy. He is elusive with the rock and often makes powerful movements to beat his defender. Once he’s near the basket he can drop in floater or lay-ups. Young can also get cooking from the outside and he’s energetic on the defensive end. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does with them.

has the burst needed to burn his guy on offense. Once he gets by his guy, he’s able to make some very difficult finishes around the rim. He seems to be able to keep his eyes on the basket as he weaves through traffic, and he also has the ability to coordinate his shot as he’s in the air or falling. I’m also a fan of the way he competes and doesn’t take possessions off.

put on quite the show in SLAM’s matchup with Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. He wasted no time filling up the stat sheet, and scored 11 points in the first quarter. Young was utilizing his acceleration and deceleration skills to shake his defenders. I also liked how he was constantly changing direction. His elusive attacking skills gave the Pirates defense fits all night and they never really figured out how to stop him. Young finished the game with an impressive 31 points.

is a dynamic point guard who also just made his way into the 2026 rankings. He has some quickness to him, which keeps his defender off balance. In the first half he drained four 3-pointers and had 18 points. Young hit a few more free throws in the second half, along with another 3. He finished with 24 points total.

Young is a talented guard that flashed a lot of skill. He shot it well especially in pull up action from the top of the key. He showed some vision and shiftiness, breaking down defenders before hitting teammates with dimes.
