<p>Week 8 of the Indiana high school basketball is officially underway and we had a big slate of high school hoops going on last night in Indiana. Let us dive on in and take a look at some highlights of Monday's night of hoops.</p>

<p><strong>Avon wins Hendricks County Championship </strong></p>

<p>In the game of the night, the Avon Orioles became the Hendricks County Champion. Avon did this by defeating county rival Plainfield 65-44 with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1561685' first='Jedidiah' last='Minnett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1565984' first='Keriawn' last='Berry'] leading the Orioles. Berry scored a team high 20 points while Minnett added 19 points. On the Plainfield side, junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560946' first='Landon' last='Gilliatt'] led with 15 points with junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1561513' first='Noah' last='Smith'] adding 12 points. With the win, Avon improved to 12-1 on the year and are riding a 12-game winning streak after falling to Plainfield in the first game of the season. Avon has a trip to Mt. Vernon-Fortville on Friday.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1561022' first='Brayden' last='Goff'] pops off, Northview remains undefeated</strong></p>

<p>They are very few undefeated teams left in the state and one of the teams stayed that way last night. in a 72-55 win over Greencastle, Northview improved to 12-0 on the year. Junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561022' first='Brayden' last='Goff'] was the standout this game with his game-high 23 points while his teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='2892554' first='Avery' last='Perry'], also stood out with 22 points. In Class 3A, Northview has looked like a team that can compete for a state championship. The have a tough weekend ahead with road trips to South Putnam and Plainfield. </p>

<p><strong>Terre Haute North gets 12th win</strong></p>

<p>Terre Haute continues to be one of the more consistent Class 4A teams in the state and last night, they got their 12th win on the year. On Monday night, they defeated South Vermillion 58-43 on the road behind junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561104' first='Gavin' last='Woelfle'] scoring 16 points in the win. Senior big man [player_tooltip player_id='2053676' first='Bryce' last='Renn'] added 11 points as well in the Terre Haute victory. On the South Vermillion side, the Wildcats had a couple of nice showings from [player_tooltip player_id='1381518' first='Aden' last='Wallace'] scoring 16 points and Dom Garzolini scoring 15 points off of 5 threes. Terre Haute North is now 12-2 on the year and look like the easy favorite to come out of Sectional 13. The Patriots have Terre Haute South on 1/17. </p>
