Preston showcased his versatility helping lead Champlin Park to a hard fought win over Anoka. He got out in transition for three explosive dunks, hit shots at all three levels, and got into the paint to create for his teammates. Preston does a nice job of getting into the lane, playing off two feet, and scanning the floor for open teammates. He always seemed to be under control even with defenders swarming around him, and delivered some accurate passes leading to high percentage looks. He finished with 23 points in the win.

Mo's efforts were key in sparking the late game comeback from Champlin Park. If I remember correctly he came up with three steals during the last few minutes of the game, converting on a pair of lay-ups while another resulted in a dunk for his teammate. That ball pressure leading to mistakes brought his team right back into the game, and they would go on to win by 1 point. At 6'2 he has a physical frame that allows him to defend against size and help his team control the glass. High effort guy who doesn't need to have the ball to make an impact on a game.

Peyton showcased two sides to his offensive game against Champlin Park. He dominated the early stages with his scoring, particularly his outside jumper, racking up 16 points in the first quarter of the game. He knocked down a handful of threes while also draining a pull-up jumper from mid-range. When the defense started to focus more on limiting his scoring, Peyton took to creating for his teammates. In the 2nd half he was driving and kicking to open shooters, and kept the ball moving with pace and purpose in the half-court. Finished with 30 points and came into the night averaging just shy of 6 assists per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1454976' first='Wyatt' last='McBeth'] proved to be a difficult matchup for Shakopee on Tuesday. Despite a slender frame, he's not afraid to play with some physicality, and was taking similar sized players into the paint and backing them down into deep position. From there he finished at a high percentage with his left handed hook shot. Proved to be a floor stretching threat from three as well. Outside of scoring he was consistently finding bodies to box out after a shot went up, allowing him to control the glass when missed shots fell to his area. Makes the right plays on the ball and always seems to be in the right spots defensively.

Xaviahn is starting to break into the rotation for Wayzata, and a big reason why seems to be his effort and quickness on the defensive end. He's a pest on the ball, and against a skilled group of guards on Shakopee, he was able to force some mistakes with his ball pressure. Ivey has the speed to pick a guard's pocket and then get out in transition for an easy two points. Plays with the type of effort and decision making that seems to be getting him more consistent minutes for one of the best teams in the state.

Tyler had already had some impressive scoring totals to start his senior season at Champlin Park, but took it to another level with 40 points in a close win over Anoka on Thursaday. The 6'6 wing has been more aggressive than ever attacking the basket this season, and it was resulting in consistent trips to the free throw line last night. Tyler has an explosive burst to get to the rim, and does a nice job of utilizing shot-fakes and jab-steps to get a defender off balance before blowing by them along the baseline.

I really like the way that Isaac seems to effortlessly glide through defenders to make plays for Shakopee. His change of speed makes him unpredictable on the ball, and he's able to get into dangerous spots on the floor to create for himself or his teammates. He's an unselfish guard who's at his best getting into the lane, forcing a help defender to step up, and then locating an open teammate from there. When needed though he's shown he can go out and get his team a bucket, and isn't afraid to take a big shot when called upon.
