Daniel had a very efficient and consistent weekend for Tech Prep as they finished 1-1. He effected the game in many different ways for the team, pulling down rebounds and passing the ball around, finishing with 4+ assists/rebounds each in both his games. David showcased his ability to penetrate the lane and dish out to shooters at a consistent level. He made some big baskets in the tight game with McNamara. Knocked down a couple threes and broke through the crowded lane to get a look at the basket frequently, drawing fouls and completing strong contact layups. Impressive all-around showing in a double dosage of weekend games from the senior guard.

Cam is the driving force behind Cardozo's persistent attack. This weekend was another stage for Young to show his high-level talent on both ends of the floor. He can get into the paint almost at will due to his combination of handle and pace-change. In his second game he highlighted his variety of finishes underneath, completing drives with outstanding touch and complete awareness of the help defense. Had some tough float finishes over or through the defense. Cam played well out in transition in both games. He makes very good reads, knowing when to pass or attack. Flashed some true shooting ability although not as consistent as he would've liked. Always gets after it defensively, defending and trapping full-court for the full duration of the game. Young reads the passing lanes well and came up with a few steals both on and off the ball. Finished with 20+ points in both outings at the Capitol Hoops Challenge, finishing the weekend 1-1.

Exactly the type of dominant performance you want to see from a big with the skills Bolis possesses. He is very smart offensively with or without the ball. Makes cuts with great timing and knows where to be on the floor to get the best look. Bolis stepped out and knocked down a 3-pointer from the corner to help stop a Takoma run early in the game. As the game started to shift momentum, Bolis began to separate himself from the pack. Feasted in the paint, getting to the rim off the dribble and in transition finishing fast breaks. Finished with 3 blocks on the defensive end, timing up layup attempts well at the rim. Didn't need many minutes in a blowout win to pick up game MVP.

Jaquan had an electric scoring performance for his 5-man team out at the Challenge. He totaled 24 points and shot the ball extremely well from the floor, finishing 8-12 from the field, and 4-5 beyond the perimeter. Gritty performance from the lead guard as he accounted for over 50% of Friendship Collegiate's 45 points. Jaquan made baskets from all over the floor, taking on defenders 1-1 and getting his jumper off whether behind or inside the arc. Pinkney added a couple steals to his production as the team also exerted maximum effort on both ends. That started with Jaquan's heart and hustle on the floor for his shorthanded team. Played the final half of the 4th quarter 4-on-5 due to a late foul-out and still found a way to make baskets and help bring the game to as close as 6 points.

Matt was Takoma's leading scorer with 18 points on 6-11 FG shooting. He made baskets on all 3 levels on the floor and scored in a variety of ways. He was aggressive right from the start, finishing a smooth layup past the 6'10 looming help inside. Took the ball straight to the body of the towering Springdale bigs, drawing a few fouls and forcing quick substitutions. Matt buried a couple threes in the first half to help push Takoma's momentum and stay toe-to-toe with a tough opponent. The defense adjusted quickly to McKenzie's outside shooting ability and closed hard, but Matt dribbled in and made some impressive pull-up and fadeaway jumpers in the midrange. Drew a charge on the break in the third quarter. Matt fights down low for rebounds, coming away with 4 against a much bigger Springdale opponent.
