Battle in the 614 Top Juniors: Sunday

This past weekend the Battle in the 614 was put on at Ohio Dominican. I was in the gym on Saturday and Sunday and this article will cover the Top Juniors from Sunday.    Reaves is a player that is essential for this fast-paced and elite defensive Trotwood team. He provides an ability to score the ball and create offense on his own. He is an elite defender with great ball pressure and quickness. He then provides a real scoring threat on the offensive end. He is a great transition scorer with a great touch around the rim. He has a quick first step and drives right by you. He did a good job of knowing when to attack and create good looks around the rim. He had some tough finishes as well.     This is my second time watching the Knights play this year for the second time Horton has had a moment of dominance in the game. His size and physicality are something that just shines through. He posts so hard every single possession and plays so hard. At some point in the game, it will show and prove itself. He got in foul trouble in the first half and then played smart in the second half. He is so good at creating enough space to get his shot off with good patience. He has high-level finishing ability with both hands. He is a dominant player that is just tough to deal with.     Fields is a player that has a ton of confidence. He feels like he can make any shot he takes, and I see why because he can. He has shut a quick release on his shot. He is a high-volume shooter. He does not need any space to knock shots down. He makes the other team focus so much attention on him on the offensive end. You must know where he is at every possession. He looks for contact on drives and draws fouls well. He either is a three-point shooter or to the rim. He is a 1,000-point scorer so he is dang good at both.     Neal is someone who had a quiet game but ended up as the highest scorer. He is someone that impressed me with his passing ability. He had a great feel and IQ for the game. He knows where everyone is on the floor and knows where they are going to be. He distributes the ball to teammates very well. He then is as good of a scorer. He gets to the rim and has a great touch around the rim. He has good timing on his pull-up. He has a unique form on his shot, but the ball rotation is perfect, and he barely touches the rim. He is a complete offensive game.     Sheppard is someone who passes the eye test. He is listed at 6'3 and is built like a house. He is a strong and physical guard who is a mismatch for a lot of guards at the high school level. He gets to his spot and is not stopped. He plays bully ball on both ends of the floor. He can get to the rim and finish well. He then is a threat from deep. He was left open a couple of times and made Teays Valley pay. I like what Sheppard brings on the floor.
