If you want to talk about one of the more unselfish players in the entire state, that list may start with Fishers senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1525682' first='Millen' last='McCartney']. Whether is be off the bench or as a starter, McCartney plays his role at an extremely high level and can produce on both ends of the floor. With a non-stop motor and high IQ, he defends different areas and has shown he can bust a three when in rhythm. He and the Fishers Tigers are in action at Brownsburg on Friday and then host South Bend Riley on Saturday.

What a great year the junior wing is having for the Noblesville Miners. With a more prominent role on the offense, Curry has exploded on the scene with 14.3 points per game while also adding 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. You also starting to see his shot fall at a more consistent rate and well as his underrated playmaking around the rim. He is proving himself to be a high major D1 prospect and you can see him in action this week when Noblesville hosts Zionsville on Friday.

There have not been a ton of freshman featured in the 3 For 3 this year but I would be doing this serious a disservice if I did not feature 2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2457404' first='Caleb' last='Coolman'] out of Penn High School. The 6'4 freshman guard has come in and established himself as the man at Penn with his very impressive 13.2 points, 5.1 rebound, and 4.2 assists per game. As a basketball player, Coolman is wise beyond his years. He is a great passer, fluid ball handler, and can create his own shot from every level on the floor. Watch this special 2028 prospect this week when Penn travels to both Warsaw (1/14) and New Prairie (1/16).

3 Teams

Kokomo (4A) – People may have thought there would be a big drop-off for Kokomo with the Flory Bidunga era being over, but those people would have been very wrong. The Wildkats, just like they have over the recent years, are cooking right now with a 10-2 record and looking like the team to once again come out of Sectional 7. For Kokomo, it has been senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1381461' first='Zion' last='Bellamy'] that broken out with his 22.4 points per game with junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1561440' first='Korbyn' last='Hammel'] adding 16.0 points and senior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2485720' first='A'Dayveon' last='Young'] adding 11.4 points as well. You can watch Kokomo this week hosting West Lafayette Harrison on Friday and then traveling to Maconaquah on Saturday.

South Ripley (2A) – There not a whole of undefeated teams left in the state however, the South Ripley Raiders are one of the very few remaining. At 11-0 thus far, has pretty much steamrolled over most of their opponents with some impressive wins over the likes of Batesville, Orleans, and Southridge. For the Raiders, it of course starts with 2025 power forward Coley Henry and 2025 teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2053681' first='Blaine' last='Ward'], who have established themselves are one of the top duos in the southern Indiana area. South Ripley will look to continue to role by trying to beat Batesville once again on Monday and then hosting Oldenburg Academy (1/17) and Switzerland County (1/18).

Indianapolis Metro (1A) – This Indianapolis Metro team may very well be on their way to cutting down the nets in Indianapolis in March. The Pumas sit a nice 10-3 record on the year and are currently on a 2-game winning streak. For Indy Metro, it has been sophomore guard Jaedyn Robinson, junior guard Kwame Hawkins, and senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1297080' first='Landon' last='Petty'] that have been the front line for them all season so far. Indy Metro has a conference matchup with Moorseville Christian on Friday.

South Bend Washington (3A) at South Bend St. Joe (3A), January 16th, 7:30 pm

This game is going to be one of the more fun games we have in the state with two REALLY good teams out of South Bend, Indiana. It's a Class 3A clash between South Bend Washington and South Bend St. Joe with the best player in the in-state 2026 class in [player_tooltip player_id='1561449' first='Steven' last='Reynolds III'] taking on arguably the best team in Class 3A in the Huskies. There is a ton of intriguing matchups in the game but the main one will obviously be between Reynolds and senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1297002' first='Chase' last='Konieczny']. I expect a very high scoring contest here but as far as a winner, I just don't think SBW will have enough to stop the group of Konieczny, [player_tooltip player_id='2140359' first='Elijah' last='King'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560973' first='Ethan' last='Roseman'], and Nick Shrewberry.

Bloomfield (1A) at Linton (2A), January 17th, 7:30 pm

Moving all the wya down in southern Indiana, we might possibly have the best matchup in that area this week. The Class 1A Bloomfield Cardinals will go on the road to face the Class 2A Linton Miners in a good old fashion southern Indiana showdown. These teams have had battles in the past and this year, it should be no different with them being one of the top two teams in their respective classes. Bloomfield will be led by their stud shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560962' first='Blake' last='Neill'] while Linton will have their big man [player_tooltip player_id='1560992' first='Paul' last='Oliver'] to lead them. Expect a close one here with Linton getting the big win.

Cathedral (3A) at Guerin Catholic (3A), January 18th, 7:30 pm

There are a ton of good battles this week between Class 3A teams looking to make a deep run in the state playoffs and two of them in the central Indiana area will meet up with Cathedral going on the road to face Guerin Catholic. Cathedral, as it as well known, are loaded at nearly every position with Notre Dame signee [player_tooltip player_id='1525663' first='Brady' last='Koehler'] leading the way. With their stacked team, Cathedral will still have their hands full with Guerin Catholic's main guy [player_tooltip player_id='2053658' first='Bryson' last='Cardinal'], who has dominated this season for the Golden Eagles. Lot of talent in this game however, Cathedral has the more talent so I am going to go with them to get a nice road win here.
